Nothing for me to worry about, it's just another hat that removes my ears. On the plus side, I save all this money whenever they release a new outfit because I don't want to pay for something that hides my features.

Hrothgar wearing helms that have no /visor to show faces, do not account for hroth snouts and very noticably replace heads with middy head small models is not a "win" for hrothgar over viera in any capacity.
Lets also not ignore viera got 2 patches of hair updates hrothgar didnt get, hroth still cant use their own racial styles on other faces, and it took the devs an entire 5 month patch cycle to fix the hideous ear issue on the handmedowns viera got at the launch of endwalker.
Viera are the golden child the devs give a crap about, hrothgar are in the basement chained to a chair watching old movies like Sloth in The Goonies.

Sure, you can look at it that way. But you can have this outfit now. Like, right now. You don't have to wait for the seasonal event to end. You can even wear this one during this year's event as you quest for the mount if you so desire. Also, when the caribou does go into the cash shop, it will be $24USD opposed to the outfit that goes for $18USD. So would you rather pay 4x the amount of an event outfit, assuming you want both items? It might go for half of that being an event mount, but you're still going to have to wait for it to go into the shop.

Also, event outfits aren't always a set of five dyeable pieces. I think the cost is pretty fair for any costume set of five dyeable, unrestricted pieces of gear.

It's 12$ and that tends to go on sale after a while, Square Enix PR won't hire you btw.

Yes, in fact it's so amazing it has literal 0 difference from the mob model, it must've took them a great amount of time.
At the very least they "tried" with the previous mounts.

Fun fact, all it takes to enable the hat with some ear clipping is changing some values on the item. Set show viera hat to yes, and show viera ears to yes, boom you now have a hat with ears clipping through the top problem solved.

I'm very surprised that people haven't caught on the fact that if a hat shows hair it won't be available for hroth or viera for at least 2-3 years if ever.

Litrally everytime a new glamhat is added via an event or cash shop they post about it on twitter and every time at least half the comments are "Wow thanks for charging hrothgar and viera full price for things they can't wear" or "canNOT wait to wear this on my (h/v) character!" and its been jackdiddly for three years.
They really cant even pull the "well we SAID these races would have restricted gear!" when a) as pointed out a trillion times by now they still charge these races full fee for cashmoney items and b) they've done THE IMPOSSIBLEEEEEE a hundred different times since h/v introduction like adding more glam plates/coffer space, separating map areas to reduce strain and bloat on areas on patch days, or finally letting players change glam plates outside hub cities.
There is very much no excuse to constantly screw over two player races for going on 3.5 years yet they continue to because..........? got me.

Honestly I think this is the worst offender because it exposes that the devs still think Hroths and Viera are a "2x1" rather than entirely different races. I, for one, would rather get one hairstyle that actually looks good per expansion, than getting 6 generic Karen bobs that look objectively bad, but "inclusivity" or whatever I guess.

I don't think that's about them thinking Viera and Hrothgar are a pair; they just seem to be thinking in terms of "convert all hairstyles systematically" rather than picking out ones to suit the races. In the long run that's helpful as it means their hairstyle lists are arranged in roughly the same order as other races.

Those first six styles were a mix of the oldest styles on the list and the newest unlockable ones they must have worked on for all races simultaneously once they knew V/H were getting hairstyles now. If that decision had happened in the patch where something like the Wind Caller style came out, presumably that's what they would have gotten first.

It is simply an unavoidable fact that the majority of existing styles are not designed with Hrothgar's aesthetic in mind.
