EndWalker's Deep Dungeon

After playing for a solid 9 years, I'm just tired of Allagan bulls[kupo]t. Everything is Allagans (see: my previous post in the thread with the meme) and while yes, this answers some loose storythreads, I would like for them to do something different when we have so much more to pull from! At least give a break from Ascians and Allagans, since that's been what the game has been 90% of the time since late 1.x. It's not so much whining like a petulant child for me, I know they have more interesting story beats than "it's Allagans for the 800th time in 9.5 years of story" especially after HoH was "haha it's Allagans!" already. POTD was interesting Gelmorran lore + some non-Allagan stuff, HoH I distinctly remember my friends and I all going "...Allagans. It's always Allagans." with a hefty sigh, so hearing more "it's Allagans, again" during the LL was disappointing. I enjoy the lore and worldbuilding, but there were more large cities beyond the 3rd and 4th Astral Eras that could be for exploring.

tl;dr I'm not mad, just disappointed lol.

You know nothing outside of that though. No one does. I'm not about to write it off due to a small piece of info. Anyone who played HoH should've known the Allagan story would continue with these. Hell same for the areas under the CT. These threads would be picked up eventually.

I'm fine so far. Msq/Alliance Raid/Normal Raids/Criterion (far as ik admittedly) have nothing to do with Allags.

I'm not going to quit over it, that's insane, I just hope that Allagans isn't going to be the only angle they do for content like this. POTD was great because it was Gelmorra! Something different! I love different things! Please give me more lore outside of "it was Allagans because of course it was." The other ideas and hopes in this thread and the one in the lore subforum with what they could have done would have been fun too (Garlean labs, the moon, something on the First because Twelve knows there's plenty of stuff in the First they could have used, among other ideas) but I'm allowed to be disappointed that they fell back on to Allagans, again, for the 800th time. Hopefully it'll be the friggin' end of Allagans, Again, Because Of Course It Is as it has been since 2013 and we can move on, but only time will tell for future content.

Pretty much how I feel. I'm gonna play it, odds are I'm going to enjoy it. But I just won't deny that there are other, potentially better stuff that we haven't explored yet. Sure, it hasn't been Allagans for a good while in Endwalker. But it's 6.3. Last time we heard of Allagans was in 5.55 with Zadnor.

One of my friends said it best: they're a convenient plot tool, but that tool is well worn. If this is what makes them put it in the shed for good, I'll be pleased because other things can finally be used for plot device tools instead.

Never said you can't be disappointed. We already are getting things unrelated to allag. I listed them. If you choose to dimiss them that's on you. Not a jab btw, just saying

I'm... not?? I've run them??? I enjoy them?? I rarely have grievances about this game, but this is the one thing that I'm actually tired of irt Convenient Plot Devices When We Can't Think Of Anything Else. Lore and worldbuilding are my bread and butter in a game and when Allagan lore is basically a 3000 page book (haha because they were around for 3000 years, that's my Allagan joke today) and lore on every other civiliation is like 2 10-page chapters, I'm going to be chomping at the bit for other stuff. The Sil'dih stuff was GREAT and I'm with others hoping that we get some Nymian lore beyond what we've gotten in the SCH quests with the new diving spots in ARR areas with a new variant dungeon for it... tho tbf, CT is all about the Allagans :P So yes, I'm disappointed, I can air my disappointment after HoH being Allagans, Again and now we're getting another Allagan-themed DD.

I'm glad for the people who like Allagan stuff because hey, they enjoy it and I'm glad someone will enjoy it! I'll be happy for the lore, just wish they'd put the Convenient Plot Tool away for good for something else so I can enjoy other lore.
