Sure, SE's Decisions as of late get many to Raise eyebrows higher than a Content Creator ever could.
But most are done with Overarching reasons the large majority of players don't think of at first.
<Though there are many moments they slip without a surface to catch themselves on, like in another thread about DCs where they'll also need to take drastic measures if they can't think of anything to Breathe Life into specific DCs.>

They know people expect things to work<specially how the nail was finally pushed through the 10th board of wood once the Grandfather had issues making a account and acquiring the game awhile back>

My FC has done secret santa two years running.

The mog station being to gift friends minions and emotes was a nice and inclusive way for us to include friends with lower income but still wanted to participate.

We never had issues... well until SE decided to change how the mogstation works.

Square didn’t ruin Christmas. And you shouldn’t make people into villains just because you were mildy inconvenienced by an unintended consequence. Comments like yours only propagate the mental health crisis a lot of developers feel because of people like you. Find better ways to provide constructive feedback instead of potentially adding to someone’s depression and being an indirect reason why they end up committing suicide.

At least they were trying to do something good. If you were a good human being all you had to do was ask them to look for alternative solution because the current implementation has negative consequences for its players.

SE themselves admitted that they fully expected abusive RMTers to continue abusing even with these changes.
Simple fact of the matter is SE picked a terrible time to implement a policy that won't even work on the problematic people it's aimed at. In essence, only legitimate users are punished, so they have every right to be upset with SE for this. Also the idea that Square won't take our criticism seriously if it seems upset is hysterical because it implies that Square even reads these forums. Direct gifting is way better than codes IMO
