This has international ramiifications that go far beyond this one game. Telcos, medical databases. Stolen credit cards and RMT go hand in hand, and whilst you personally may not care to hear it, the measures being taken are to protect YOU. Lastly, the comments raised about payment processors are of critical concern, as those "big three" are the only ones with the infrastructure to handle GLOBAL financial transactions..get on the wrong side of them, get a name as vulnerable to hacks, data theft, fraud and you are DONE.
