Did you know that 2.0 happened because those that stayed in 1.0 had so much copium that things will get better.

    Just food for thought.
Heres food for thought, harsh reality in fact.

You are on a camping trip, make a mistake, portage across a river , realise you are now 50 km from where you started, its getting dark, its getting cold and you discover your compass is broken.

    What do you do.

You are on a walking trip and get separated from your friends, night is falling, you are lost, your phone wont work and you need to survive till morning, because only an idiot tries to navigate the bush at night with no directional help and no map. You have no camping gear, no tent,. no tarps, no food no water

    What do you do.

Heres step one: maintain a positive mindset and think on how you will get out of this alive, you dont let the negative emotions or fear get the better of you.

According to that article, thats "toxic positivity"

According to me thats called "I dont want to be a corpse so I will be positive and find a way to survive overnight"

...I recognize that I'm in deep shite, don't ignore the crap that's going on and actually do something about my predicament.

Except what often tends to happen is that then you have random people show up, just as lost as you are, but tell you to ignore the issues and enjoy being lost. Stop whining that you're in danger, enjoy the moment and explore.

At no point should you allow yourself to be consumed by the fears and do nothing but whine about your situation, that's true. It doesn't solve anything, it doesn't get you anywhere, and odds are you're just more likely going to make those fears come true faster than otherwise.
But when you have so many people with their heads buried in the sand that refuse to help you, that refuse to acknowledge that they're on the same situation, that it might get worse for them if they don't cooperate with people and make the situation better for everyone (ie: find a way out of the woods AT LEAST so that everyone can return home when they so please), you just feel lonely and demotivated.
Plus, if you have this many people also tell you to ignore the issues (not focus on them, ignore entirely!), either you feel resentful at those people and never come back to this place next year for your camping trip, or you become complacent and turn into one of them because of false consensus.

At some point people NEED to recognize something's changed and that it's not going well. And rather than whine that people brought attention to it, strive to understand what happened and provide reasonable feedback. Otherwise, screw it, why bother?

You don't want to be a corpse? First step is recognizing you're F'd. Then it's staying calm, not go overboard, and work to find a way out. But holy hell there are PLENTY of people here actually willing to become corpses, it just doesn't faze them whatsoever.
