There is definitely not a lack of content but it might be content that you aren't interested in or that you only decide to do once because you don't care about the rewards.
It's not really a content issue that's the problem here, there's endless amounts of side content to tackle. It's more that the core gameplay has changed so little over the last few years.

They need to figure out something with the battle system. The global cool down 1 2 3 gameplay is kind of meh at this point.

They've got some rather odd split directions with content that largely feel like they are competing with each other. On one hand there is high tier raiding in savage and on the other hand there's time grinding stuff and now exclusive seasonal rewards with PvP.

With the amount of content they got, FFXIV really does not need the kind of "bash your head against a number wall" content like Savage anymore. I've been doing it the past couple of tiers and it really starts to feel like "Well this armor looks cool and I'd love to dye it, but I'm spending 12+ hours a week on this and am missing out on stuff that I can much more easily clear without drama or burnout."

They also have a lot of content now that just automatically level syncs your gear to the max for the tier or caps it at an older tier, so it kills the whole point of getting to be "big number man", which is really what savage kind of amounts to. I mean great, you get to do big numbers but so does everyone else in the content that actually matters, not to mention with seasonal rewards you're literally crippling yourself doing the savage fights in terms of rewards. Unless the person doing savage has absolutely no life outside the game itself.

Same I do enjoy the game to a certain extent. I just wish they would stop playing safe and really start taking risks in the game to get it lively. 10 years is a long time to hope a game survives but if the content you are coming up with is "meh" to most people then you have to do something or you will start losing people

Eh, I don't necessarily think the content itself is the issue. More so just the incentive to actually do it and how they pace the content and their patch cycle. For me they already have great content, it's just a matter of innovating on that content over time, and whether they can use it to complement areas of the game where it may otherwise be lacking. E.g., will they listen to people when they say the newer criterion dungeons need better rewards and gear attached to them, or will they ignore it?

TL;DR: I don't think the amount of content is an issue, just the replayability incentive - I suppose it's a double-edged sword though depending on the frequency of play. - I equally think given their direction behind the earlier stages of the relic, that they would do a lot better by introducing relics earlier, and either spacing them out more with a grind equal to what it may otherwise have been had we followed the usual x.35 - x.55 cycles. Or just having a greater involvement anyway, but a more proactive approach to reducing/nerfing the requirement.

As for the leaving. I feel indifferent about it. Goodbye, I guess, and enjoy another - new journey, or whatever.

i've never really liked this guy and his takes, so good riddance to him in my opinion. most of his reasons for leaving is his life changes tho, which makes sense for his life circumstances honestly. however he is still very cringe.

    1. you want to spend more time with your family. yeah, you're old and have kids. being an up to date content creator for mmo coverage with family responsibilities (at least until the kids are older, more self-sufficient, and probably almost ready to leave) is very difficult and time consuming and he admits this so yeah time for a priority shift.

    2. he says he loves his stand up comedy but will never post it to the internet because his jokes get more negative than positive reaction. ummm.. then that means your jokes are bad, or have bad takes. I don't know much of him outside his XIV videos but i'm guessing then that his jokes have racist, or discriminatory undertones. those are not good jokes then. he says people are hyper sensitive. "come on man it was just a joke". umm no. you like offending people for laughs and hey surprise, not everyone is into that.

    3. he praises New World eww gross. hasn't that game crashed and burned by now? I haven't followed any news on it since it had such a horrible launch and massive problems afterwards. did it ever manage to fix things? I dunno, don't care.

yes the game has been around for 10+ years now and for some it doesn't spark joy anymore. he's prob more into new world because it's throwing more shit at the wall to see if it sticks and that excites him more.
comes back to that argument of do people like curated structure or do they like randomness more. the eternal question.

maybe he can be cringe sometimes. The most cringe content creator though is Zepla. I think she is the worst of all.

well then i guess opinions are buttholes cuz everyone's got one. I actually don't mind Zepla, i think she's bubbly and mildly humorous. I like Xenosys too but his takes can be very cringe.

Can someone explain what toxic positivity means?
Or rather, use an example of what toxic positivity looks like in-game?

Because my only experience has either been genuinely nice people, the opposite (mean-spirited, malicious), or the occasional "you don't pay my sub" types.

I've never met anyone that is so.... positive (??) that it made me feel bad in any way shape or form!
