Because they want to bully the topic creator endlessly for bringing up topics of contention in the forums and pointlessly beating him over the head with former argued points. I think it is a fair point that Yoshi P. hasn't even touched his Island Sanctuary and that several other aspects the game has issues with are also things he doesn't touch much.

It's entirely possible he just hasn't had time. You know, being busy working on multiple things. He probably hasn't had the time to complete ultimate or savage yet either.

No one is bullying aveyond. He simply runs from any criticism of his points. He likes to dish it out, but can't take it, as it were. His OP lists stuff that is subjective along side a single factu, that Yoshi hasn't been on the island yet... ON HIS PERSONAL ACCOUNT.

He even says that he wants to play it once he has time to slowly savor it at his own pace. Guy currently has the 14th broadcast to ready for any 6.25 checks he needs to meet. A whole other game to attend to and he's at least done three different interviews with western sites. Then there was his recent Yoshida walk about, his in game meeting with Sakaguchi, a different stream where he was a guest on. To say the least the man likes to keep himself busy.

This wording in the article is what I found interesting as well. I'd assume that the head dev would have probably at least run around a little bit on the island using test accounts, so to say "he didn't play it" is a bit inaccurate. However, the fact that he can't name a single thing that he likes about it is ... sad, and somewhat telling, in my opinion. It reminds me of cooking simulator on steam. I've clocked about 20 minutes into that game. I've played it. But if you asked me what my favorite part about it was, I wouldn't be able to give you a straight answer because even though I technically objectively played it, I never really sank my teeth into it or anything.

People who were disappointed with island sanctuary might look at this article and feel... something. I didn't expect it to be good because I'm a pessimistic asshole, but I also don't expect Yoshi to personally nolife everything this game has to offer. To me, this news isn't infuriating or anything. But I think some people who were craving island sanctuary and were then let down by it, are definitely going to look at this article and feel like maybe island sanctuary could've gotten the blm treatment if yoshi had actually sank his teeth into it and played it more. Whether or not that's an accurate assessment, no one can say. But it is what it is.

I love threads like these and really don't see why people get so pissed about them. Every time this guy with the car signature makes a thread criticizing the game, people come out mad as hell at him and calling him a troll, like he just personally spat on their grandmother. Personally, I don't feel trolled. But I also don't pretend that gaming studios are my friends, so.

The interesting thing about the Aveyond fan club is that the normal response to not liking someone's posts or someone's persona on a public internet forum would be to block them, but they can't bring themselves to do that. They purposefully keep him unblocked because they have to see what he's writing, and they have to be ready at a moment's notice to shoot down what he's saying. It's almost like an obsession. This guy lives in their heads rent free.

If I'm gonna see them anyway, may as well have some fun replying. Don't you enjoy watching people with crazy conspiracy theories? Seeing how their brains work sometimes is entertaining too.

Work can be slow at times. Not like he responds to anyone who disagrees with him anyway. Can't even criticise him or he hides behind "internet bullying".


Also, it's always funny that the same group complaining about aveyond haters comes in to defend him every time. Except that one thread you guys couldn't even defend it was so bad lol. Your absence was incredibly telling.

I wonder if anyone here has ever developed something (not even gaming but really anything). After days/months/years of making and testing something, you get burnt out on it. He might not be able to name a favorite part because once burned out on it. He might be taking time to let the dev negativity wear out, then go play and enjoy from a gamer perspective, not a dev perspective.

Very likely the case.

I mean, I work full-time+ (in other words I regularly work over my contracted hours, usually unpaid) and have family commitments - this means the only time I really get to be online/play the game is from around 22:00 until whenever fatigue takes ahold (but I never stay online after 1am).

Not trying to be some apologist here but, judging by recent pictures, YoshiP looks pretty exhausted and its fair to assume that he puts in the hours and then some!
