    SE has actually done this before in several games, already. Some examples I can think of without trying are elevators in Augusta Tower (XIII-2), Pharos at Ridorana (XII), Delkfutt's Tower and Pso'xja (XI)... so we know they'd be capable of it. Personally, I wish the elevators in Ul'dah and LL were part of the maps too (i.e. no "zoning" screen, no cutscene, able to run in circles while elevator is in motion).

    I am not suggesting speed run, what timers have meant so far is getting to the boss in 5mins then beating that, I want this dungeon to be a long fking adventure that takes four hours not 5mins for our current dungeons, and i dont care if theres a timelimit, i just care how long the content takes

    I don't really object to the idea of speed run reward, but maybe they should be more along the lines of achievements than items. The achievements could themselves give titles or items.

    It would be nice to have at least a 3~4hr-style dungeon, and I don't even care if it's 8-man, could just be low-man and it'd still be interest.

    This, This ten times over. This is exactly what killed Dzamel for me and pretty much all my friends. The dungeon is just a run fest. A total waste of a dungeon where it would've been better if they just developed a race track with hurdles in it (might be more interesting really).

    We call it 'speed run', but is it really a 'speed run', or designated 'speed run', or even inteded to be 'go as fast as you can' run.

    Or is it just that we get rewarded if we complete it in a reasonable amount of time, versus taking too long.

    For example,
    The original intent was that it should be doable in 30 minutes. But rather than pulling us out after 30 minutes, they gave us a lot of bonus time (because we often complain things are too hard, etc.).

    But then this is unfair to those who find it easy and can easily finish it in 30 minutes. So they give a reward for people who can finish it within a reasonable amount of time (or, they do NOT give a reward to people who take longer than it should?).

    I guess its a perspective. I look at it as: If done efficiently, you get a bonus reward. If not, you don't. And efficiency is measured (in this case) by how quickly you go through.

    Of course, I could be wrong ^^;

    Been off the forum for a couple of days, but this is a good point. However, if they want to appease the hardcore crowd, they're going to have to use some resources on hardcore content. Whether it's in the form of 4 hour raids, a multitude of 24-hour spawn HNMs with 3 hour windows that take more than 10 minutes to kill, or some sort of Sky type 36 man content. A large amount of 30 minute instance level dungeons with hard modes just isn't going to cut it.

    Whether or not you're interested in the content, it'll have to exist if SE wants to appeal to everyone. Personally I'm not interested in 30 minute dungeons with speed runs and hard modes. WoW gave me my fill of those and then some. But you won't catch me saying they shouldn't add them, because I understand they're something of a necessity for the casual crowd. Same thing goes for the hardcore content that'll never appeal to me. HNMs that spawn every 21-24 hours? You couldn't pay me to do that again. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't throw a few in there for the people that would like camping them.
