Yoshi-P, are you listening?Hm.. I've some point of view to share.
1. 1.16a fix sidequest sp?? Isn't last patch just add sidequst? So 1.16a is just a bug fix. Not Patch. Definitely not "Planned"
This is my first suspicious. "Yoshi can really do what he wants according to plan vs TIME?"
2. There is No Way to add more Content in game unless you buy a new DVD/expansion . Like Cut-scene, New Area...etc.
SE can ONLY open more content which is already here. Like Coeatha Castle, some locked cave, already new class, or so call 'Company', a new battle/quest/LS mode?
This is my 2nd suspicious. "Why SE is holding back from unlock stuff?, They're saving it for something that benifit SE, not player , since we already paid for the game"
3. I'm sure they can add 'NM', 'Class -Equipment' with ease if they've enough dev members. There is no need to be huge download to do that. But why update so slow? This is my 3rd suspicious
4. I Only agree Yo-shi need to revamp the whole batttle system ASAP. If we need more player from other MMORPG to make FFXIV popular, or to make ps3 launch success, this is the key.
In summary, I guess that Yoshi's Dev team is relatively small. Or even Yoshi asked for it, SE wo'nt give him much becuase what Yoshi does is not making profit. Why a company will waste expensive human-resource in a non-profit game? They're Japnese, they know this theory very well. Epsically after natural disaster kicked in. Working on FFXIII-2 or FFXIII verse guarentte more instant profit to come.
Well, I'm quiting FFXIV for now, play something that has fun element in it ( Game is good for me from work-stress),
If FFXIV ever has a good real big patch, I'll log on and check if it make me stay.
Otherwise, not gonna be a fan/doll for FFXIV. Still a fan for FF tho,
Oh yeah, checking the forum once in a while. This is more fun than actually play FFXIV lol.
We want a major rehaul of the battle and class system, and we want it NOW! There are some awesome games coming out this summer! We don't need FFXIV!
Why are you on a FFXIV forum then?
P.S instead of trolling, you should actually read the information they lay out.
so you want them to make the same mistake again and release something too early and unfinished just because a few people want it now? gl with that
Seriously man. Stop with this rediculous expectations. I think you should stop playing this game like... NOW. I have no problem with people expressing their feelings but man your bashfulness for this game is like totally over board. I again say this.. STOP PLAYING THIS GAME! and hanging out on the FFXIV forums just to bash it. *sigh*
Actually that's not what the majority wants. The player poll was quite clear, and the majority wants more content (understandably). In fact content is coming. It's called companies.
You != We.
"NOW!" != Realism.
I've heard this before. "New content is coming! Sidequests! YAY!"
Those turned out just GREAT, didn't they?
We don't even know what companies are yet, so how do we know this is the magical and elusive "content" we've been craving since September?
Not to mention we have no idea when companies are even going to be introduced, all we were told is we'll hear information about them "before the release of 1.17".
You folks need to take it easy on Belgian...the rabid fanboys here have labeled him as a troll, when a lot of what he says is sensible and constructive, albeit blunt. He has said numerous times that he was really looking forward to the game, and he wants it to succeed. None of you even bothered to read that, I bet.
But that's the way things work around here, isn't it? Anyone who isn't slobbering all over themselves talking about how wonderful SE is gets the label of "troll", while the real trolls (kilta firelotus) continue to spew nonsense and contribute nothing.
Actually I didn't expect anything of the sort.
I genuinely believed that the quests are going to be story driven open ended tasks that involve good writing and well made cutscenes that I can complete in my own way and at my own pace.
To me sidequests are leves nothing more. It's like the quests I have been waiting for since beta didn't even arrive. The only thing that I saw in the quests is the possibility that they will never be anything more than spoon-fed leves.
I don't know if I should hold out hope that future quests can involve more story and gameplay or just accept the fact that this is what they will always be.
SP never even crossed my mind when I waited for quests and this patch did nothing to improve the quality of the quests for me.

Opinions vary world wide, but when we really think what is in common, most probably the battle system and the class balance, as long as those two issues are solved, other things can be solved as well. So I think these are the two areas the players are asking to be changed.
