SoS Normal, why the mandatory active time event?

Why would they know by the time they get to SoS when failing it in the other duties with it doesn't wipe the party? Most trial parties I'm in shrug when the sprouts die, finish the trial and leave while the sprout is still watching the Duty Complete cutscene. Unless there was a wipe (extremely rare in other normal trials with the event), it's not likely anyone is going to stop to explain.

You can't assume someone is trolling just because they fail the same mechanic a couple of times in a row.

There are some that do, that are in the msq. So yes, they would have to know before SoS.
How does a completed duty have anything to do with this? There is also auto translate, if they don't speak an official language I dunno how or why they made it this far, it's almost a guarantee someone has it macro bound and already said it. It is 100% trolling without defense.

Honestly I don't get why this is something the community defend. It's like they don't really care if it's a bad feature or not, they just see another opportunity to disagree with someone else and spout "git gud" and "kick the bads" (when they're probably quite bad at the game themselves anyway).

There is no point in the ATE. It's not a skill check. It's not a mechanic to figure out. It's not an interesting part of the fight. Just mash random buttons. There is zero reason failing it should result in a group wipe. Fairly simple.

Yet here we all are arguing about it anyway, just for the sake of arguing.

Yeah it's just a gotcha and unfortunately these things that wipe the party or entire raid (looking at you Nald'Thal) really brings out the toxicity toward someone and the instant calls of being a troll when they may have just missed something about it. All the people in this thread who want to know exactly who did it so they can kick them just fuel that idea.

They should probably keep this sort of thing in solo duties and not invite this in group content. Keep success and failure there just on figuring out and performing the mechanics and tanking/dps/healing.

Y'all forget some folks have hand problems when it comes to button mash as fast as you can. I recall people bringing this issue up.

SoS needs less mashing than the other „fill the bar“ mashers.

You do not need to keep the bar full, you just need to not let it empty.
The more empty it is, the more it jumps up wach buttonpress. The fuller it is, the more mashing it needs each press.

Normal typing speed is enough to keep it going.

Don‘t spread wrong info about it being masher to death again.

All „fill bar-hold bar“ mashers can be done by normal typing speed.

If its so bad, roll your hand over the keyboard to not strain your hands more than your normal rotation requires.
But stop with the „you need to mash!“ when it‘s not.

But anyways, i don‘t care about the mechanics, it did work well in „in from the cold“ tho tbh (also did not need mashing, same with SoS and susanno)

The only solo MSQ duty with it that I can think of before you get to SOS would be Y'shtola's in Steppe and that's got an extremely generous timer to the point the only way to fail is to not click at all. That one can be easily completed with mouse clicks. SOS can't.

Do you have said macro created and ready to use yourself? If not, then how can you guarantee that one of the 6 other players in a random group is going to have it macro'd and ready to use?.

You're being hostile and unforgiving in a situation that doesn't warrant it.

I would leave it out of all content period. It's not interesting as a mechanic. It's extremely immersion breaking to be in the middle of a story combat moment just find ACTIVE TIME MANUEVER suddenly plastered over half the screen.

Want a do or die moment? Give the player the special LBs to use as they do in other solo duties. That works great, it's there on the hot bar for the player to think to use or not. You get a great special effect to watch instead of having your eyes glaze over staring at a grey button next to a bar.

SoS can be beaten with mouse clicks pretty easy.
As others have mentioned, the game cheats. The less you have in the bar, the more it gives you per click.
You only really need to click once a second really to keep up.

Like i do get it, but there are ways around them without straining your hands/wrist since none of them are that demanding.
It‘s just misinformation because SoS rubberbands a LOT and pressing it to the clock in the back is more than enough :3
