All this artificial time gating was done purposely because the dev team knew Island Sanctuary has no staying power and would have been completed over an weekend otherwise.

And ... your point being? I know a lot of people are saying what you said, what I don't understand is do you think back and reflect on what you said and see if it makes sense?

A few example: Xenoblade 3, I beat the game with a save clocked at 110h. That lasted just a little over a week. Before that, Trail of Cold Steel lasted me for about 5 days with ~80h clocked in. And I paid 60$ for them, to get roughly 1 week of entertainment. You see the point here? If people like and want to go ham at a content, they will. And they will finish it in no time at all without any gate.

Now ask yourself what do YOU expect? No time gate and content that will last you for weeks and months? How that's possible? Without time gate, normal raid will have one week top. Savage raid won't last a month. and 24 probably would die at 2 weeks. You know what is the only alternative to sustain without the time gate? Grind, long long grind. I don't know about you, but I much prefer time gate content over long grind.

    ^^ This right here ^^

Time gating is much maligned, but it's really for everyone's benefit. Before time gating was a concept, all you had was grinds. For an MMO to hang on to people and keep them engaged / paying, it's necessary to prolong the content as it can only be developed so fast. On the customer side, burnout is a real thing. People have developed health issues from just staying on and grinding at objectives. Some aren't around to game anymore as a result.

People look at world race every 6 months or whatever and think "ooh, look at them go for those long sessions." That was the norm back in the day. Games like FFXI and EQ have had raid content that would take an entire day or two to clear just once. Maybe you got what you needed, but you generally didn't. I once played an MMO with an unforgettable grind for this mega-stat piece. I had to kill around 100,000 mobs to get it and the areas they occupied weren't all that big. I pushed for it and might've been the first to get it, but it didn't matter as the game didn't last very long.

id prefer no time gate or longer grind on the island sanctuary. theres no reason for either for this activity. what a dumb statement made by a bootlicker.

Ah, the usual "I gonna insult anyone who disagree". I have nothing to argue with you beside saying: maturity is something dictated by behavior, not age.
