I do not appreciate the attempt by some posters to derail the main subject of discussion by debating the color of Devout robes. In any case "cream" is not whatever color Krile wears in FFXIV. Her FFXIV outfit's yellow tone is much more stale-looking in comparison. Nevertheless, such attempts to drag the discussion away from the main subject matter were not made in good faith, as can be evidenced by the previous comments made by such posters which I have already brought up previously in this thread.

Consider that tangent of this discussion over. If you want to debate the color of her robe, do it in another thread and not in this one.

Whatever outfit she wears in 7.0 doesn't change the fact that at present we have no reason to believe she'll bring anything novel to the party. Despite having been experimented on by Zenos she shows no lasting signs of trauma or any other behavioral changes that show that she's been through something harrowing. I have very little reason to sympathize with her struggles, as women in FFXIV generally are barely allowed to have moments of emotional vulnerability.

The lack of them does not make for compelling or likeable heroines. No guise of "strength" will ever change the fact that women like her or Y'shtola rub people the wrong way with the sort of attitudes they display and the lack of any humbling moments. Mary Sues through and through. A few tears would go a long way, but I can't say expect either of these women to let their defenses down to the point where they allow the player to glimpse them in such a state.

I have already commented at length about why having so many characters from the same place and sharing the same ideology doesn't make for an interesting party. Though Zero does offer some pushback against the rest of the group, there aren't a lot of interesting or dynamic relationships between the beginnings of the new cast yet. Vrtra is very one-note about his sister and save for his remorse brings very little else in terms of personality. Estinien's arc no longer seems to be progressing in any direction, and I have been clear enough about my thoughts on Y'shtola and the other Sharlayans.

Krile would not be my first choice as a healer in the group, nor do I think it would be a good idea for her to act as a mascot for a new caster job - what casters need right now is a Dark-themed mage to fill the Void left behind by the loss of old Summoner, dots and all. I don't believe that Krile would be a good fit for such a class, not after her acting as Hydaelyn's mouthpiece in 6.0. We would best be served by a new character stepping into the role of the party's healer, and leaving both Krile and the other Scion healers behind.

With Zero, Y'shtola, and Krile making up the female members of the party, that only gives us 1 female party member with a unique attitude and perspective with the remaining 2 being essentially the same character in everything bar their appearance. This is unlikely to be conducive to the goal of creating more interesting dynamics within the party, not to mention the state of the male cast which to date only includes a defanged Estinien and Vrtra. With the latter sporting a face far too young and feminine for him coupled with now being referred to as the party's "little brother," he has fast burned through any excitement I may have had at one point for him joining the party. It definitely feels like I should care for him and his sister "because the story said so." As I've said before, that just isn't good enough.

Rather than trying to figure out which old Sharlayan or Scion to add to the cast, the focus should be redirected towards creating and introducing new, vibrant characters with distinct personalities, goals, and ways of treating each other. If I were to add a new woman to the cast, I would have chosen a more sensitive and friendly character in the same vein as Yuna, or perhaps Vanille. In terms of men, we are in desperate need still of some muscle and more masculine energy that Estinien isn't providing with that ponytail nor is Vrtra with the face that was designed for him. I would choose for them either a Highlander, Roegadyn, or even a Hrothgar to fill that role and just let him live out as himself to the fullest. An Iron Bull like character would be interesting to see, though as much as I enjoy Alistair I don't think introducing him would be fair as someone like Y'shtola would only undermine him in the same way she's done to other men. In which case, someone like Cullen from Dragon Age as well might suffice, or a shady and duty-driven character like how Chris Redfield acted in Resident Evil 8.

I will not allow you to misrepresent my statements in this fashion. For those who missed the exchange several pages back, here is the full context:

I'm even completely open to FFXIV post EW to go completely "anime" because at least i'll smile more and not cry as much. Bring back the silliness and slapstick of Stormblood i say!

Please give us more fish humor.
