I think it would be a good look for him. Especially if he got some new facial hair too. It's hard to believe someone in his situation stays so clean shaven. It's not as if Elezen don't grow beards.

It's almost like some people don't like having beards. Beards are annoying, they itch, require constant maintenance.

Bangs are definitely more annoying than beards, this is coming from someone whose had both. You don't stand to lose anything from a more masculine guy being added to the cast.

Facial hair does not equal masculine. Neither does not having bangs. You have very warped views on what is and is not masculine lol.

Not sure this was ever argued......
But it is argued that it wouldnt look good on Estinian, but rather a different character

After Estinien's lackluster performance in Endwalker I'm ok with him being benched in favor of someone who looks more tough than him. Again anyone from this thread could serve as inspiration.

since we are voicing opinions and personal preferences.. I prefer the no beard for anyone that accompanies us. beards creep me out. but thats a me thing, much the same as long hair, beards etc are a you thing.

It's not. It's an argument against you saying the main party doesn't have anyone masculine in it.

And your opinion on who looks tough is terrible.

I don't think anyone has ever looked at estinien and thought "man that guy looks like a wimp."

He's a lanky elf. He isn't exactly physically impressive but at least when he wore his hair loose he had a high elf thing going on that looked ok. Now he just looks strange. Thancred was also way too young looking and Urianger and G'raha Tia need no explanation.

I guess if the game wants to self-select for people who are only into one type of aesthetic for men and women then it's on track to do that just like how Genshin Impact looks.

Why bench him, when we can just add to the cast?
Estinian probably didnt give you what You want out of him, but he is Very well Liked, and I for one want more of him.
And you'd run the possibility of missing out on Chemistry between 2 hard-fought Veterans if you bench & substitute, instead of just allowing both to exist.
This is why we need Well Written Characters, not just Checklist Archetypes.
