If I have something to say I say it. Honestly I don't expect everyone to read really long posts even if I am the one making them.

The devs said AV was the best mob they made, and if Tanaka was still incharge here, he would prolly make a grand return.

Tanaka made great content, and its a shame he wasn't more involved in content creation in XIV. He is still involved with software development, so who is to say he won't make some content for this game at some point? I am sure we will see the great NMs from other FF titles eventually, just not at 50 cap.

That said the game has to appeal to a broad base of players in order to attract people who will become hardcore players of XIV. They have to build something that people will check out, and a certain percent of those will go for hardcore content. A certain percent will leave for another game, or play this casually along with other MMOs.

Put a God monster at the end of it, but you can only kill him with a certain item with a 50% drop rate from the boss in front of him but the God has 100% drop on a bunch of great items. ( you now been raiding for 3 hours and 6 if you didn't get the drop) But almost impossible to beat with a strat that took bout 1 month to develop!

There is a difference between best way, and only way. Most of the content in XI could be done with different jobs than people used, but no one wanted to risk beastseals, or pop items on less tried and true strategies. Sort of like how you could beat airship with any solid party setup and a lot of luck or be guaranteed to destroy it with 5 black mages and a tank.
