And now let's imagine they play more than one game a day or *gasp* win. (smile)You're making it sound like it's some humongous grind, requiring you to completely focus on PvPing for the entire patch.
In reality, it's a total of 108k Series exp to reach rank 25. CC gives 900 for a win, 700 for a loss. Frontline gives 1500 for 1st place, 1250 for 2nd place, 1000 for 3rd place (and losing streak bonus applies to it, afaik)
A patch (and therefore Series) last for at least 4 months.
Even if you were to lose a single match of CC per day (which is roughly 7 min, including queue time), you'll hit 85.4k exp.
Yeah I don't get this hyper aggressive fomo labeling, feels like the new age of Karen to me.
Where should I direct people who missed this and want it? I can't find the NPC that has the coffer.
I didn't say how much time the grind would take. You're responding to a completely different point. I am disappointed in the apparent time limit, and the lack of clear communication, not the time spent in the game mode to get any item. I just like to use.. er.. colorful language, and theatrics, 'cause that's just kinda how I like to talk I guess? Everyone has a different intensity economy (mine's inflated. I had a 1man party over a delivery of trash bags once.)You're making it sound like it's some humongous grind, requiring you to completely focus on PvPing for the entire patch.

I would just rather play a game mode and get rewards because I think it's fun and because I'd want to do it, not because I need to hit a quota before its availability goes away. Calculating how much time I need to do something just turns it from a fun distraction, to an obligation/chore. FOMO leads to goal paralysis, which can make something that I find fun... not.. that. Which is not ideal for a videogame I like to play.
Here's hoping either I'm freakin' blind and just couldn't find it on the shops (which is possible at 6am), or that it being missing is just an oversight, 'cause I was fairly excited to engage in the new system without some deadline pressing down on me.
Edit: ok, the wording is "eventually added later" So, I guess they mean like way later, and not like after the season? Gods I wish this was more clear.
That's the plan /thumbsup

~sigh~
If it is not fun, don't do it.
Okay, so apparently it will be possible to still get the Archfiend Coffer, but it won't be available until a hotfix repairs a missing button on the Series reward claim.
The Coffer was part of the Battlepass that was announced to last from season 1 to 2.
You can still claim the battlepass rewards But: Only those of the series-steps you reached.
As the new battlepass has started i assume all new series points will land there.
Eventually: If you havent claimed your old series-rewards you might still get points
on this card - but thats just a thought.
Truth be told there was more than enough time to get this item I'm really surprised there were any issues with it
Death Is Only The Beginning....
Afaik, there's no "missing button". The button to view previous Series only shows up if you have any unclaimed rewards.
For those of us who didn't realize that the malmstones rewards were going to retire/vanish, we didn't think there was a deadline on earning them, therefore we prioritized other aspects of the game in the free time that we had.
I don't think it's karen-like, as some others are saying, to ask game developers to be clear about when certain content is going to be removed or what the deadlines are for events. It's just a basic courtesy. It would literally have been just one sentence: "If you want any of the series 1 malmstone rewards, please ensure you finish the track before 6.2 comes out, as all those rewards will be retiring." Done. Bam. Ez pz. I don't understand why they would hide this fact from their players. They did the opposite; they literally said that the series 1 rewards would be available through the end of season 2. So then you have people like me, who believed them, who then focused their free time on grinding blue mage runs for the moogle event and other prep for 6.2. Don't I feel dumb now.
Imagine if come patch 6.25, they just removed all of the ARR beast tribes all of a sudden. I'm going to guess the ARR beast tribes aren't a lot of players' top priority atm, especially with island sanctuary, pvp, new raids, new MSQ, etc. They're not running to their PCs or PS4/5 like "I MUST GRIND THE BEAST TRIBES ASAP" because there's no stated deadline. No deadline? No reason to hurry. I'll get to it when I get to it, when I feel in the mood. (Thing is, I'm almost never in the mood for those ARR beast tribes, lmao...)
So, I expect there are probably lots and lots of players who are upset about this -- but they're probably not the ones who regularly do PVP as their main fun, you know? I did the math for series 2 b/c I don't want to get screwed over again by any secret or obscure deadline. If I run just 2 CCs a day, even if we lose, I'll have finished the track through the mount just in time for 6.25, assuming that's approx 60 days from now ish. (I rarely run frontlines, but obviously others should consider that math figured into the total if they do.) So, that's the master plan...
Posted, 12th of August:
PvP Series 1 will be available until the start of Patch 6.2 maintenance.PvP Series rewards will be updated when Series 2 begins, so take to the field of battle before Tuesday, 23 August and earn those rewards!I'm sorry but you were given plenty of advance warning. The blame here lies squarely on yourself.* At the start of each new Series period, your Series EXP and level will be reset and the available rewards will be replaced.
