Archfiend Coffer

Title + a question:

I'm currently level 21 on my series. Will my chances for getting the coffer be permanently gone once season2 rolls in? I know that the prelim notes states that you can still claim season 1 rewards via a separate tab, but does that only count for tier rewards that you've unlocked? I procrastinated leveling my tier rewards, so now I'm kind of crapping the bed - worried that Im gonna lose the chance to get the archfiend coffer. If that's the case.... sadge T_T. As it stands I'm def not getting to rank 25 for the coffer in the next 2 hours before maintenance lol.

They've said that it will still be possible to claim series 1 rewards up until series 3 is released.

I think you'll be fine as far as the archfiend coffer is concerned, I want to think they said that players could still earn series 1 rewards. How that will work remains to be seen, tho.

You can claim Rewards that you have not yet claimed but I don't think that you can claim that Level 25 Reward if you have not made it to that Level. After the Patch all Levels are set to 0 again.

Pretty sure you'll get series exp for series 2, not 1, so if you haven't already reached it you're probably out of luck. Unless they add it as an item you can get with trophy crystals or something.

you *should* be able to spend trophy crystals to get Series 1 rewards until the start of Series 3 (even if you didn't reach that level in Series 1). check the vendor tomorrow after the servers come back up.

They've been incredibly vague when it comes to this.
Unofficial translation had a line where Yoshi-P stated "If you didn't make it in time, you can still use these crystals to obtain the rewards for the previous series, they will stay for one additional patch but will be gone after that"
Official digest of the same live letter simply states "With each Series, your Series Level will be reset and the reward lineup will be changed, but you’ll be able to obtain rewards from one Series prior."
Patch notes, and a separate lodestone post about Series 1 ending simply state that rewards can only be claimed until the end of Series 2.

So yea, OP, best bet is to just hope for the best and check the PvP vendor after maintenance.

Cool cool, I thought at the preview of this new system, they said they got rid of the fomo, so I praised them for caring about their players and being more confident that people would want to play their content without shitty psychological tricks, and wasn't too worried about burning myself out on the new pvp mode.

Looks like I'm forced to grind it whether I'm enjoying it or not if I ever want anything from there.

so "eventually" is the big word there I guess. So even though it LOOKS like they've brought back their old FOMO ways, maybe this is just them neglecting to inform us about, or my inability to find out how the other half of their rewards system works..

Hopefully we'll get a time table so we can know when things'll be coming back?

You're making it sound like it's some humongous grind, requiring you to completely focus on PvPing for the entire patch.

In reality, it's a total of 108k Series exp to reach rank 25. CC gives 900 for a win, 700 for a loss. Frontline gives 1500 for 1st place, 1250 for 2nd place, 1000 for 3rd place (and losing streak bonus applies to it, afaik)

A patch (and therefore Series) last for at least 4 months.
Even if you were to lose a single match of CC per day (which is roughly 7 min, including queue time), you'll hit 85.4k exp.
