What kind of nonsense is this? The actual duties and responsibilities of being a Game Master is for one to enforce terms of service and banish players breaking rules by gaining unfair advantage. If they aren't allowed to do that what's the point of being a GM?
It's the job of the special forces team, and ONLY the special forces team to handle botting reports.
... now, if you want to report somebody, who you are not going to say is a bot, is causing issues by using outside software to instantly kill quest related targets the instant they spawn... the GM can take action against what is clearly a coordinated effort to harrass you when you need that monster for a quest... HINT HINT....
but, yha, apparently the INSTANT the word "bot" is said, the most they can do is fill out a form, and then move on. Can't even enter the zone to observe.
To ban people who mention dps or say bad words in DF. That's pretty much it.
They have little to no resources allocated to severe issues like botting, scamming, stealing and extreme cases of stalking and the Special task force mostly exists to trim the throwaway RMT accounts that openly hack the game, which is the bulk of the numbers we see on their "accounts banned" reports.
GM's are mostly here to give the illusion of an actively moderated game.
Sad part is even with a person that admits to running scripts not much is done outside a temporary suspension. I speak from experience, FFXIV legit has the worse moderation team ever I have gotten away with more here than any other game. They hamstring their GM staff to the point I would argue it silly to not cheat.
Giant casts are what you make, fishing on the moon.
I hope my line don't break, fishing on the moon.
We could sit forever, fishing on the moon.
We could sit together, fishing on the moon.
So you openly admit to being an asshat. There's a shock.Sad part is even with a person that admits to running scripts not much is done outside a temporary suspension. I speak from experience, FFXIV legit has the worse moderation team ever I have gotten away with more here than any other game. Yup, but I am also in agreement that SE does need to improve their moderation, and expecting people with higher risk tolerance to just blindly following "da rules" is kinda a meme. If the punishment does not outweigh the benefits of the infraction why not take part? Just out a subjective metric?
A rule that is hardly enforced or lightly enforced people really should not be shocked that people weigh out the options and say whatever. Without harsher moderation this problem will not go away. Saying one shouldn't do x is kinda pointless imo.
I would argue humanity is already kinda screwed because of selective or light rule enforcement. If one could make say 1 million ignoring the rules then taking a fine of even 200k why not just do it? Still making profit.
In the end if I get caught so be it, I break the rules knowing the risk. Just so happens the risk is so low and recovery is so minimal I personally do not lose much of anything. In the end my priority is to myself first and foremost. Willing to bet most people that break the rules also operate on the same mindset. We do not break the rules just because it is a calculated risk we take, want people to stop make it so it is no longer profitable for the cheater either in terms of time or income.
Guess what I am trying to say I do not think people follow the rules just because more so because they are afraid of consequences.
