The sad thing is that these guys aren't just botting and are also using a hack to remove the animation lag from some of their fishing actions, but that's apparently still not obvious enough to make them bannable.

More than anything, I'm curious why they'd bother. It can't be a gil-making scheme, or there'd be hundreds of RMT bots doing it. There's only so many hi-cordials you need to cart around, and you get more than enough white scrips for those from the custom deliveries each week. Tier 9 materia are dirt-cheap, assuming you haven't stockpiled several hundred of them already. Am I missing something obvious here? And why the wandering? What possible purpose does that serve? They're not hiding from or fooling anyone with that.

If I had to guess, it probably has something to do with optimizing their resources. They are probably fishing to obtain scrips in between harvest periods of the ephemeral nodes. Less cost in terms of teleport fees.

Nah, it's not that. They only have FSH leveled and only ever leave the zone to do turn-ins or change servers for...some reason.

Last I checked there was nearly 30 of them across the whole of Aether DC.

There is a fish you turn in for white scripts. They buy items using the scripts to sell on the MB then sell the gil from that via RMT.

I thought this was a silly thread....but recently I just cleared Mare on my Hrothgar Alt (yeah, he is very behind -_ - ) and as I went through that cave there was a big line of Fishers.
I couldn't believe it, it was actually kinda of neat to see people fishing on the Moon XD.
