When I was brand new to the game I was on a server with the road to 50 (yes back then it was 50) and because I couldnt log in every day had a ton of rested time. End result was I was level 35 by the time I hit 17 content. A lady saw me in gridania one day and asked why I was level 35 with no job stone. I flat told her the truth. My gear was so bad I couldn't beat my lvl 25 class quest and I had already spent all the gil I had on a couple of pieces of gear but it just wasnt enough. SO I was just questing through hoping for quest rewards that would get me to the point I could beat the quest. She said "Stay right there" and went off and made me the velveteen set. I beat the quest on the first try and went on and got my job stone the same day. One of the kindest things I ever experienced in this game.

The point is sometimes it is not a lack of care or trying. Sometimes there is a reason for not having that stone.

Well once again. Thats fine that they have helped, an i mean that. However my point is as follow. There should have been a system/message stating on where you need to go. Didn't the recommendations show that on the list when people log in. Or like i mentioned about the hall novice. why not have something that shows you how things work?

I knew I needed to get it. I could not do it with the gear I was able to obtain. Believe me I tried about 15 times to do the quests. Then I tried several times every time I got a new bit of gear. I looked up rotations (I was a arcanist back then), I practiced at dummys. I KNEW what I needed to do. Given the gear disparity I just couldn't do it.

This was NOT someone refusing to do what was needed. This can happen. Even easier now with the earring and rested and road to 80 to massively outlevel your own gear.

My point was condemning everyone that finds themselves without a stone is probably not the best thing. You do not know exactly what is going on.

Put in a mention that reminds players to get it. That hurts nothing. Wholsale condemnation of someone stoneless at 30 isn't really a good thing. Better to politely ask them why they don't have it yet. Particularly absent a game reminder.

Going to say this and dropping the stone subject. People will legitly and willingly take them off to do 50+ content. See the link below , sorry but if you have people doing this it make it really hard to believe this. What you are telling me that is pass not for present. You know how to play but it was gear issue, then im going to ask is why not buy it from a npc vender or spam dungeons to get gear. For me back then, that what i did if i needed gear i spam dungeons and i got gear for it.

And this is exactly how classes get dumbed down to the point that healers have. The unwillingness to adapt and improve. Healers have become 1 button jobs to accomodate these players.

Your problem. You can be in the 87 dungeon and still be new enough to not know how to tank properly. Learning to tank well is something that takes people years.

Ahh no. By 87 you should know how to tank well in this game. Tanking in this game is way to simple and easy. In all seriousness it is the easiest role. By level 87 you should know by now how to run into a pack of mobs then run to the next. Stop, set up shop by using a mitigation (Reprisal, arms length and your invuln should be used as well.) Start by using your invuln on the first wall to wall pull. Then go to reprisal or arms length, while spamming your 15 second mit. You should be spamming your AoE rotation as well to make sure you are hitting all mobs. Things are dead, you run to the next pack then the next, stop at wall, set up shop buy using your 30%mit then arms or reprisal, again things should be dead now. Move to boss. Kill boss then move on to the next group of mobs and repeat what you did from the start of the dungeon, minus your invuln because it is most likely not up yet. That is tanking. That is it. Nothing more than that. People need to stop acting like tanking in THIS game is hard. Once you start doing big boy pulls you will learn they are actually way easier than doing single pulls. You can actually run out of mits by doing single pulls if you mistime usage. Cool downs on mitigation skills work out a lot better on wall to wall pulls. Just be sure to let your healers know when you plan on using your invuln. If you are with a white mage, wait till after they used Holy a few times and the mobs are immune to stun.

What ever are you talking about? I think removing talent trees and skills will only help the newer players! :^)

People need to be at least be competent in random groups. No one wants someone pressing 1 or nothing while watching netflix,playing a second game etc

Your “its fine,its just a few more minutes” opinion is bad (which most of the times is wrong and it is more often than not five to ten minutes)

Your “who cares” opinion is bad

You should know a basic rotation, basic healing,basic tanking at 50+

I don’t remember the rest. Luckily there was more people with good opinions then bad in here.

This is why I typically am a doomer about the future of the game. The people who want it to be dumbed down, are indifferent, etc. are much louder than the opposition.

That's what they are asking for, that the game parse all players and then sorts them as high-skill or low-skill for match making.
