Absolutely the glam must be freed as soon as possible except for AF gear as that actually makes sense to be restricted. Outside of that it 100% must be free for every job/role and there are many reasons for this. Not only will having full freedom with glam create some of the most amazing glams this game has ever seen which are currently not possible, it will also create an incentive for a lot more people to level a lot more jobs they'd normally not bother with just to get pieces of gear for glam of other jobs they actually do play.

Another point is that freeing the glam will ensure that any new jobs/roles that get introduced in the future will always have a wide, ever-expanding selection of glam available. If we look at the 4 newest jobs in the game (GNB, DNC, RPR, SGE), they are completely screwed in terms of glam and have to mostly rely on their AF gear and maybe 2-3 other sets of gear at best, if they're lucky. As they expand roles by adding more jobs with entirely different aesthetics to each other they are trapping themselves in a situation where they have to design gear with all jobs in that role in mind, which just simply won't hold long term (and it literally doesn't now either). In fact its getting worse with each expansion as new jobs are being added and older glam fits the new jobs less and less.

Restrictions stifle creativity and thats a fact. A painter on a blank canvas with full creative freedom will paint you a picture many times better and prettier than one who is, for example, only restricted to 3 colors. They're called "creative freedoms" for a reason. Also, I don't know what insane amount of mental gymnastics you have to pull to convince yourself that everyone would go for the same pieces of gear if they lifted glam restrictions. It is the exact opposite of that. Currently, people DO go for the same few pieces and very often they're level 1 all classes pieces anyway and this is BECAUSE of the restrictions. That entire argument gets obliterated the moment you look at what players actually wear in the game currently.

I am amazed at the few people here who actually try to defend the existence of restrictions when it comes to something such as cosmetics and I sure am glad they're not the ones making the decisions for the game.
