I honestly don't buy technical limitations as the reason, anyway. In terms of modeling, the NPC's have the same parameters as us(with a handful of obvious exceptions). They don't make custom versions of gear models for every NPC in the game.Constantly repeating how there might be technical issues doesn't mean that everyone who wants glamour restrictions removed will suddenly change their mind.
Nobody is arguing that there's a severe lack of variety, its just annoying how many good pieces there are that are underutilized because of the role restrictions. Also, considering that more often than not, sets share the same theme between roles, most pieces are interchangeable and would give us more options from that specific theme. There's also certain pieces that I wouldn't wear on a certain role, but would look amazing on another.
Of course, if they ever remove the restrictions, people can still stick to a single role if that's their wish.
