Been reading up on island sanctuary...

Sounds like everything to do with this upcoming feature is entirely self-contained, having nothing at all tying it to the main game. From what I've read about the features, it sounds awfully time-consuming for stuff you can only see/do/use on the island itself.

Edit: Another thought I just had...the existence of island sanctuary with the described features completely obliterates every single argument against the existence of instanced housing.

It's not intended to be a time consumer. It's intended to be a time filler when the player wants a break from their normal routine.

Players will no doubt spend more time there when they're first starting to work on their island but I doubt it will be an excessive amount.

That sounds more and more like Garrisons from WoW. Hopefully it stays as side content but the back of my mind has this dark thought that it might be tied to the relic line/Hildibrand story. I'm pretty sure it's not but I keep thinking that the pieces ARE there, lol.

We already know that won't happen. SE has already stated it's completely independent with no influence on other game content.

Island Sanctuary is basically just one massive Instance Housing plot. So I see it as a step towards the right direction since now I have the room to grow more things and tend to my chocobo more.

Everything you grow there is specific to Island Sanctuary content.

There's no indication that Island Sanctuary is going to allow us to "tend our chocobo more".

We don't really have anything to go by yet other than vague marketing statements. I'm just refusing to get my hopes up beyond cautious interest, personally.

Correct. It can only be used for Island Sanctuary content, including it's unique economy that is not impacted by what other players do.

I am pretty sure it will sucks i mean you ll just be alone in a island...What's the point of building something if you can't show it to others
