Except I'm not arguing semantics, I'm arguing core gameplay mechanics. Paladin is literally Gladiator+ whereas DRK is a wholly different class altogether.

That's not even getting into how much work it would take. The reason SMN and SCH level together is because job experience and class experience are the same. A level 90 paladin will by default be a level 90 gladiator. To do what you want, they'd need to find a way to de-couple the values.

Meanwhile, without them spending the countless man-hours to implement what you want, you could rp a gladiator that became a DRK yourself. Which falls back to... I don't see the benefit of the suggested change, only the potential costs.
