I'd say they are doing this so japanese players don't sign up for EU and NA and viceversa, but this leaves a lot of countries (paying countries) out of the equation.

Do they SERIOUSLY think everyone is gonna be like "oh ok its not for us"?

We are ALL paying customers, we are SUPPORTING THIS GAME since it was a baby born with lots of defective issues, we have been supporting and promoting you for a long ass time and you cant even give everyone the chance to participate in a single contest?

I think it is more because your country has restrictions and other obstacles getting in the way of such contests. If that isn't the case, and SE just doesn't have the resources to extend the contest to all regions, I don't understand why getting jealous and excluding everyone from participating is a better option.

I somehow doubt that my country of origin has any effect on getting an ingame item.
