Wait wait wait.
I can understand country restriction for real life prizes. There are a lot of issues to deal with on these cases and it is easier to just not deal with them at all and restrict to a few countries.
But an in game item? Seriously? Can anyone give me one single reason as to why that restriction exists at all?
And of course, when it comes to billing, I can live on Mars and I'm still eligible for payment. ^_^

Yeah I bet that if it was a paid in game item like that FFXI leviathan necklace they wouldn't mind the distance.Wait wait wait.

Exactly. If it were a real world prize with monetary value (like the previous one), then country rules would apply and restrictions would be understandable.Wait wait wait.

But they said the prize this time is an in-game item so the geographic restrictions seem odd.
At any rate, this is another Community Team sponsored event -- not Square Enix.
I appreciate that they are doing these things and trying to create fun for the community... but when we have a truly international community, leaving a big chunk of the population out is really unfortunate.

Mikita, stop being so niceIt's not just unfortunate, it's like the middle finger to the rest of us
I really don't care that it's a Community Team sponsored event, it's obviously been approved by SE and is very discriminatory to the rest of their paying customers.

So it's an internet contest with the prize being an ingame item which doesn't require shipping, that NA & Canadian players (excluding Quebec - wtf?) can only receive?
Bullshit!
I'm paying for my subscription just like they are and I want to be treated equally.
Oh, and in case I haven't been heard well enough from Europe, let me say it again. . . .
Buuull-shit!

Even real life items you shouldnt restrict, there is no need, what it costs an extra couple pennies to ship? There are a few mmos that have done global contents (TERA) with RL prizes.
There is no excuse. We should all just go hang out in the culinary guild and photobomb with /angry
