Or am I now supposed to break the law in order to make sure that behind "Sexy Kitten" that walked into a player ran nightclub doesn't sit little Timothy age 13 that blatantly lied saying he's and adult? The internet operates on scout honor as we basically have no means of verification. At the same time pushing it out will only hide it and not protect shit.

ID. You know this game is populated by minors, it is your responsibility to make sure you don’t ERP with little Timothy. If not, find another place. This is not a strip club where they verify the age at the entrance and where you can reasonably expect people to be adults.

I suggested that there be a separate category for ERP stuff in party finder which is to be restricted from minors checked via age verification and got lambasted immediately for my suggestion. It seems like people who engage in ERP just want to have their fun, consequences be damned.

Listen up folks it's parents responsibility to protect their children and make them aware of potential dangers and how to avoid them. Is that game really populated by THAT MANY minors though? Sorry but I highly doubt it. And sorry but there is no ID verification when it comes to these things. So by your logic ERP as a whole and I guess by proxy anything sexual needs to leave the game because "think of the kids".

That's because something like that would be performative, not actually useful. Age gates on websites are worthless. How many kids say "Oh damn, there's an age gate here. I guess I can't get to the site." versus lying and saying their age is whatever is needed?

I believe there was an eastern gaming company that made players send in their IDs because they didn’t want men playing as females. Sorry but I’m not giving my ID to any gaming company
I don’t understand why people want more policing and less freedoms. I believe in regards to many games allowing those under a certain age, that an adult needs to make the account (a minor cannot) and if a minor plays, then an adult must be present.

Many interactions can’t be policed by the ESRB, especially if online. If people want to get their rocks off, there are tons of eastern games that allow that as well as some western ones.

Personally I don’t care. I’ve been a part of ERP myself. There is nothing wrong with it. If a minor lies to do it (saying they are over 18) whelp, then blame it on the parent/adult that wasn’t there to monitor.
