I completely disagree with your statement that Hildibrand is "as FFXIV" as the importance of Garlemald in this game's story.

Clearly not to the people who actually made the game, but I guess the irony in the silliness of your Xaela wearing a baseball cap and driving a car from another universe is a bit lost, too.

You Go enjoy a break away from FFXIV and do something enjoyable that doesnt involve complaining about nothing to do...when in reality the issue is there is nothing YOU want to do.

For real. I'm just going to be on my island and vibing (eventually..). Plenty of content doesn't appeal to everyone, so just don't do it! It's EZ.
