They always do an Introduction to get us started, and then next patch typically is where the grind begins, and we see the Shiny

Unless I imagined it though, I swear for the Bozja: Resistance Relic, in the next patch after the introduction, they gave us 3 steps.
Then DR, and then the Final Zone and final weapon.
People predict next year should be 7.0, so it makes me wonder how quickly we will run through this Relic.

Not sure whether they were being actually serious about this or not, but either way it's bad form to require such an absurdly long questline to be completed before we can do this expansion’s relic. I don’t even think Ivalice is as time consuming, and at least acts as a skill check on the playerbase.

Short answer? Lore. Hidebrand's father is a Goldsmith and critical in making these weapons.

Long answer? Who knows really but the good thing is you can skip all the cutscenes and someone timed how long it took them to do the questline without skipping cutscenes and it was only 2-3 hours. It will be MUCH shorter skipping cutscenes. Hildebrand is mostly cutscenes. Regardless of how you feel about SE's decision to do this at least it's not long.

If only SE would go back to the old relic formula. Knowing the relics would become stronger than raid weapons in a reasonable amount of time made them worth getting.

Its cause arr relics were just about on par with tome/raid gear for a chunk of the game not just the final step.

The last step is most likely the BiS one.
Has something changed? was SB and SHB relic not BiS in last step?
