The future of WHM will always be sourced from the fanbase of the job itself.

Meaning if the whm mains are "happy" then they will see no changes besides the redundant upgrades. WHM will remain to be the "safe" option of the healers because it's so "simple" and easy to use.

This fact alone has and will still force WHM to be lackluster, weak, or okay.

Though the misery changes were necessary for them to actually have healing without feeling terrible, that's something that should have been a thing before EW.

And since whm mains love to say that AST/SCH is broken for having a hint of creativity, it will be the base of how the devs will focus the majority of the changes.

Example: SB whm was literal hot garbage, their gauge was quite literally useless. This xpac is where AST and SCH shined the most.

But then ShB came along and guess what? The devs decided that AST and SCH needed to be brought down to the depths of hell where WHM was instead of bringing WHM up to their standard. This baffles me because not only did they wreck AST and SCH, they did this to two jobs that are still not as popular as whm.

People can say that AST was a problem child with dual sects and that SCH's fairy was "OP" but the truth is that WHM had zero going for it and deserved it's worst healer title in SB.

WHM was competitive during ShB because SCH was so awful to play and 5.0 AST was unplayable. Mind you that it was competitive because the other two were nerfed and changed into hell.

Come EW, WHM has the worst MP economy after being the best ones for MP. EW did not change much for WHM mind you, however the new healer and AST/SCH proved that WHM has an ever-growing issue of complacency.

Whm mains will eat up any changes made to the job even though it's the bare minimum. Lily system instead of that SB mess? They praised the devs so much for giving them something usable. Misery being dps neutral? That's something they should done when they realized that WHM doesn't heal nearly as much as the others.

WHM's future has always hinged on the fanbase's voice. If we are "happy" with it then it will never be more than it is.
