Turn Housing Demolition on

To be fair, even if autodemolish came back on, only 1-5% of houses were actually auto-demolished so far when the system was up. And that's because it's either people really didn't resub the game, or forgot, or actually had personal issues that they can't come online at all, or actually dead/hospitalized/has terminal illness.

Otherwise, people who own like 1 whole ward have kept their houses since the launch of auto-demolish because all they need to do is just login, walk into the house. reset the 45 days and log out.

Auto-demolish whether it's up or not, doesn't really change anything but only giving people the extra days to put less 1 hour effort to log in all of your characters/accounts to reset the demolish alerts.

At the end of the day, people who own entire ward/multiple houses will not get their houses auto-demolished. They'll just keep it empty and unused, and watch others cross their fingers that house will be gone.

So if people in real life should not care about their virtual house why should you care about getting one? Why are you so aggressive about this topic if its just a virtual home? If we take your arguments than bascially you have to simply accept that you dont own one and that it does not effect the current house owners at all.

Here is the thing. Everyone here wants fairness right? So turning a auto demo timer would be fair correct? What if a player stopped playing or sadly passed away and the house just sits there forever. Wouldn't it be smarter to to have the system turned back and in theory lower the time needed for auto demo? Problem is everyone defending it isn't truly using their brain and seeing the bigger picture. Just using the small logic of timer bad, timer stay off. Whereas the timer creates fairness for people who have decided to never come back or whatever reason and a plot just sits there never used when someone else could use it

You do understand that I'm not saying the war doesn't MATTER AT ALL.. I'm saying that if the war doesn't impact a significant amount of people who play FFXIV , it logically follows SE wouldn't do anything about it.


So, very cute trying to demonize my take as gatekeeping, but if people would actually pay attention to what is happening and where these wars are and who they impact, they'd be able to see that , no, not every war would warrant stopping demolition.

This isn't about "this war is horrible, that war is not". All war is horrendous. This is about who and what it affects.

Euhm, not all people agreed to the demolition timer. Certainly not when buying.
A lot of people bought a house before thete was a shortage or any whisper of demolition timer.

I bought my first house in 2014. I lost in after the first purge during HW. I didn't even know there was an auto-demolition timer. Never read the patch notes. That email probably went into "Promotions" or Spam. It happens. I wasn't playing the game and the entire purpose of the auto-demolition timer was to reclaim houses from players like me. I'm pretty sure I didn't come back in time to reclaim my gil or items.

However, I did NOT agree to that system.

I don't know what the solution is. I think picking one specific aspect of the game to "reset" your progress is silly. Our levels, gil, quest progression, achievements, etc aren't reset if we take a break. Why does housing?

None of those things are preventing other players from experiencing a certain part of the game. Housing is, due to it's limited supply.

It speaks a lot to the amount of people frustrated and the poor structuring of housing that y'all'd love to just act like nothings happening so you can get your virtual house..... but yeah.

The globally impacting , exceedingly dangerous to the entire civilized world conflict continues.. lots of people have more to worry about than their FFXIV house and it's a nice gesture that they don't have to.

There is a "Return to Eorzea" that just started, that's usually a sign that housing demo is close (inside 90 days) to being back on. They tend to go hand-in-hand.
