Or possibly just make Loporrits playable since most of the design work would be done already lol.

I dunno about Loporrits but tbh I'd actually like them to not feel too restricted by lore moving forward, especially with the next expansion being sort of a clean slate ( sorta ).
I really want Garleans as a playable race, in the end of the day I don't think the player choices matter that much in this regard when it comes to lore or plausibility.
I'd rather just have more choice.
