Yep I completely agree. I only have one Ifrit win to my name. It took me that long to realize getting Ifrit weapons would be a huge HUGE waste of my time and I have better things to do with my life like triple-meld something that's better anyway.The totems and nuts are a sanity check for the randomness. The fact that they are also random is absurd. I don't mean that in a hurtful tone, its just that it is illogical and self-defeating. Please see this.
Every victory, you should be able to make real progress (not fake random number progress).
Option 2 if you must. Should someone really need to kill ifrit more than 10 times for a drop? They're not really proving anything beyond that point and have clearly defeated the content.
Until they fix this crap, I'll just stay away.
I don't mind having to do it a bunch of times or it being hard, but the randomness of it means I could invest days of work and literally have nothing to show for it {No Thanks}
I thought like Quesse too for a bit, but then I realized the damage stat on the Ifrit weapon is more important than any materia that could be affixed to it.
It depends on the weapon though, the gla/pld sword isn't that much stronger than a winglet +1 which you can affix useful stuff to, same with the ifrit bow vs. crab bow. others however, like the gaxe and lance, are fantastic jumps in base damage.
Same thoughts here, I have about 35+ wins at Ifrit (or something like that) and only 5 totems. Count with that the defeats, it is A LOT of time spent on getting dark matter G5... the run is not even fun anymore because of the frustration of the random drop. Oh sure, the Ifrit is fun content to battle! However, I am at the point now that I WANT a weapon, I'm going to tackle newer content instead of wasting my time on Ifrit. Same for Moogle, I'll keep at it until I win, but not much more than that unless they fix the drop rates.Yep I completely agree. I only have one Ifrit win to my name. The devs and Yoshi-P are great persons, but I'm not sure they took the right path with the drops.
As it was said previously, even with 100% totem/nut drop rate for every single player, it would still take at 10/20 WINS a single weapon. It would be both rewarding (you see progression) and make it hard on the players to gather every single Primal weapons (btw, 20 wins for 1 weapon is a MAXIMUM too!).
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
Not sure if they've changed the drop rate or anything for the latest patch. I just started playing 14 days ago and have managed to get my THM/BLM and PGL/MNK to 50. I've killed Ifrit 8 times now and have gotten the Claws, and 2 totems. From what other people are saying these are supposed to have a ridiculously low drop rate? I've seen 3 other people get weapons and 5 other totems drop for other people in my 8 kills. It really doesn't seem that bad for such an easy fight.
I think its better to make totems drop 100% for each member in party for each win or increase drop rates for weapons n put em in loot so party members can pass it to others who need weapon .
Today one of my party member got Ifrits bow & didn't need itwhich i needed but were unable to pass it to me , its just a pointless system
.
