    I'd be fine with waiting until 6.2 for a fix (even though they've done reversions in the past on smaller patches) but it'd be nice to know whether or not SE even cares about all our feedback at this point. The silence is becoming extremely irritating. They said they'd await feedback. They have like 50+ pages of it now, not even counting however much of a response has been posted in the other languages' forums.

    At least a "please look forward to deez nuts" from Yoshi-P would let me know it's time to unsubscribe now instead of later. I haven't felt motivated to log in much lately but I'm getting tired of just hoping we hear something soon.

    Patch 6.2 release date = August 2022, another 2 months of radio silence. Tin-foiling my imaginary conclusion that the Dev team is willingly ignoring the forums, JP included. Thus in their minds they done a perfect job with these horrible changes.

    The asinine reasoning, Button Bloat. Which we have to assume is a mistranslation to Action Bloat, still asinine. The other reasoning is reducing DPS variance, probably due to the something like FFLogs.

    And DPS variance is just a mindboggling reason for me. Players executing a fight twice, with the exact same actions twice, yet with a 5% difference in between each performance parses... DPS variance, that number that players probably are so unbearably annoyed about... I can't possibly tinfoil this far to think our changes came from these players and FFLogs...

    Look, I am not pointing fingers here. But I find it even this reasoning... DPS Variance, incredibly " Stupid ". Because reduction of Variance? is rebalancing towards " Non-Variance ". There will always be variances in the numbers, it's an endless rabbit hole... Where do we stop on variance reduction?
    • Direct Hit removal
    • Making every job Auto-Crit
    • Removal of Crit entirely
    • All Gear stats equalized
    • Job buffs are now all the same
    • Every Racial stat passive the same
    • Auto-Attack removal
    • Removal of all Dots
    • All Mitigation the same
    • All AoE shapes the same
    • All healing amounts the same
    • All the same everything the same everything
    Might all sound extreme and unbelievable, but is it? Because we can find variances up into the decimals... we can go really far when it comes to forcing " equality " here, just how far are we going? well we don't know! it's to eliminate variance, well it can go endless.

    Our DPS variance would be an issue if our regular Midare hits say 20k? and our Crit Midare hits 500k+, well then yeah the DPS variance is an issue, but its not that extreme... it just isn't.

    And ultimately, to Fix what issues... for FFXIV? we can clear everything, DPS variance does not stand in the way of it. Is it for FFLogs? for what? that sounds like an FFLogs problem then not an FFXIV problem. Nothing makes sense and no acknowledgement from Square is just beyond stupid but hey! who knows... maybe we'll get another attire on sale in the Mogstation. The important things.

    Don't forget minimizing burst damage, because high-burst jobs create an unfair advantage or disadvantage depending on how soon after or before a window a group manages to bring the boss down to 0%. DPS output over time should look as close to a flat line as possible.
