What's the point of doing *anything* in *any game*?
Do what you have fun doing.
So, in endgame, you only can have fun in PF savage the 1st month of the release of the content? It's dumb. They need to implement something new to get people doing it.They are right tho, you mainly do it for fun. You are trying to PF it very late into the tier, by that point most people even slightly serious about savage have long cleared by now (and possibly moved on to dragonsung). You could try looking for a static or just wait to start on the next tier in 6.2.
Give them something i don't know...
People like me are f#cked, and need to wait couple of month to do savage content if i didn't found a roster. You call that fun?
It's just poorly implemented, why the hell it still have a lock on the savage loot? Why did i need to wait 1 week everytime to have my loot while there is no more PF to do it?
It's just dumb.
In an MMO generaly, you do hard content to loot good stuff. This stuff help you to your every battle after. This is not the case here.
Did i wrote the OP that bad that 50% of the people didn't understand it?
I agree that rewards from savage have to be better. Because knowing I can just wait til the crafted gear drops, makes the whole thing feel pointless. I dont do savage on release. I just wait for unsynch to kick in and do it later down the line. Filthy casual? Yes. Most efficient way of doing it? Also yes. Finding a static, 7 other capable people who have prepared (asking a lot already). Meet at same point every week (most cant do that). Prog for hours and hours for a dyable glam piece, a mount everybody else will have later on anyway, and a weapon that's about to be replaced. Sure, theyll have it before me, but I'm not wasting hours and hours on prog. So I can use that time doing more productive things, like levelling, collecting stuff. So swings and roundabouts really. The draw really isnt there for me although I can see why some people do it.
I think this game has a big problem with stats and gear in general. Gear isnt, and hasnt ever felt rewarding to me. It's just a means to an end. I understand xiv is more about glam, but I wish we had better gear rewards that arent so replaceable. I spent ages getting a full 530 set at the tail end of shadowbringers, only for it to be immediately (well, sorta) replaced by random endwalker greens. I told myself I'm never focusing on gear again haha.
@OP: You're not wrong; Savage and general hardcore endgame stuff is done for the sake of personal goals and satisfaction.
It's not for me, and it might not be for you either and that's fine. I personally like to level as many classes as I can to cap, more for story (But even then we don't have stories per job anymore so my motivation there has waned).
I typically just play when I feel like leveling or hanging with friends, but when there's nothing I want to do I don't force myself to play- I just play something else to scratch whatever itch I'm feeling. Or do some netflix.
Just for your own personal planning, assuming you're worried about gear or keeping up your iLVL:
The easiest route for gearing up is basically getting end-of-expansion tomestone stuff, which will last about 5 levels into the next expansion.
(Meaning, the gear that drops in the 3rd MSQ dungeon will be better than the tomestone stuff, so you'd never need to really farm for gear)

To you, not everyone is motivated by personal goals and intrinsic satisfaction some of us need to feel the grind, need the actual progression both in terms of looks and power. If we aren't going to be rewarded for our effort other than a fleeting feeling we will have on the first clear then it's not really that valuable.@OP: You're not wrong; Savage and general hardcore endgame stuff is done for the sake of personal goals and satisfaction.

There is no point in keeping up with gear, the gear you get now is going the worst and most limited version of gear with stupid restrictions. The only thing with end game gear that matters is it dyeable.

Not every mmos out there has an obligation of having the same copy-paste end game content you are waiting for. Yoshida did state many times that its fine to take breaks to go play something else, and as such FF14 is not made for burning players out in an endless daily farm. If you don't get what is the point of savages and ultimates, then it seems like you simply did choose the wrong game. If you want daily grinds to get better gear to get harder battles, i think that you would be better playing Wow or Lost Ark.
Also if you are that lost on a theme-park mmo like FF14 when it comes to its end game content, then you definitely don't want to try sandbox mmos XD
I mean yea when only people like you remain, it's gonna be an uphill battle. Work on your own performance and try to find a static, that's pretty much all you can do this late into the tier. So, in endgame, you only can have fun in PF savage the 1st month of the release of the content? It's dumb. They need to implement something new to get people doing it.

I'm not lost at all. But endgame is something to do when you have finished the game. And 99% of the thing you have in this game can be done BEFORE finishing the game. Thus, it's not endgameNot every mmos out there has an obligation of having the same copy-paste end game content you are waiting for. Sandbox MMO you can do whatever you want whenever you want.I was a miner, a ganker and a fuel rat in elite dangerous for years. There was not fake endgame, it was just a game and you made your own game yourself.
Endgame speak for itself, it something you can do AFTER ending the game... So...
Piggybacking off thus,
Statics are still being formed on PF. I see a couple posts on a daily basis. You can see if one needs a role you play and go from there.
