it has games in the Inn..oh lets not forget that those toys you mention? are handed out by Blizzard, and then either crippled or NERFED beyond repair afterward , citing "unexpected issues"...that apparently they didnt test for beforehand??

achievements are simply far worse and the minion/mount tab badly needs an update.

Dont see an issue with it at all. The achievements are fine as is, you get new titles and cosmetic items / glam items as you go.

The nail in the coffin with WoW was when they added the 30th renamed rat or snake pet and when they started removing massive chunks of content once they were no longer current.

They've been doing that for ages long before you noticed..Battle for Undercity anyone? Blizzard hasnt just "removed" content they used a CHAINSAW and hacked huge swathes of it out for no reason. Oh and lets not forget one very recent one....Ordos and the Cloak. Oh that was a real treat, being told by all the Blizz staff that "you can do Ordos afterwards without the cloak"..and then people finding out that they were being ported aout and what did Blizzard say?

Oh "we changed our minds so those who have the cloak can feel speshul"...and with the ENTIRE CLOAK questline gone, no one who wasnt in that expac will ever see or do Ordos.

I left WOW because I was sick to death of being lied to. Repeatedly. And even if they say 'they didnt lie they never make promises"..the time to tell people that was BEFORE the patch, not after. The takeway from that was this "Blizzard cant and wont be held to their word, can and will change their mind at any time. Dont like it? Too bad"

Karabor and Bladespire, replaced with Camp Copypasta and Fort Zug Zug. Blizzard as it is cant be trusted. Ever.

I appreciate that ff14 doesn't do that, the only thing I dislike is their habit of moving past event items to the cash shop, which means a new player is going to have to pay cash to fill out a collection.

About that.

Many of these items come up again at a later stage when the event is rerun, the cash shop is for those who may have missed out on event items. They dont HAVE to buy them as many of them are cosmetic items anyway...or are reused or available elsewhere later.

NB: The car from the FF 15 crossover isnt in the cash shop...which says that event will recur at a later time.

cannot agree with your post more than once, but I would, especially about Blizzard

Blizzard stopped putting in the effort to earn my money years ago, and finally had had enough. plus, I found no part of it fun any more.

FFxiv, in my opinion, still tries to earn my money. they succeed, they fail, thats life, but either way, they make it enjoyable and I appreciate that, and can always find things I havent touched yet.

.1 patches are usually quiet, especially as we don't have Tribal Quests for another 2 weeks. Things'll pick up with .2 (maybe .25), when the new relic questline starts and the ShB relics are nerfed to the point of not being too difficult.

I do agree though that expansions being back-heavy in terms of content is annoying, and that .1 patches could probably be a bit spicier.

Your post is basically "your opinion is wrong" but opinions are exactly that and if I enjoyed WoW's system more back in the past then I personally enjoyed it more. Verminion is really scraping out the barrel though (which sort of proves my point) and I don't see why you bother, if there are things in FF14 that could be done better why stifle that feedback?

The achievement system in ff14 has rewards, but there's much less milestone achievements, no dungeon or raid meta achievements where you can go back and clear them in interesting ways, no achievements where you have fun. Just "clear X" participation achievements or ridiculously insane repetitive grinds. No creativity. They're also far less visible.
The achievement system might be "fine", but that doesn't mean it can't be greatly improved.

The Inn toybox is also really scraping the barrel. I think most of us forget it exists. Even if Blizzard ended up nerfing half their toys, it was a great idea before they ruined it and they literally had hundreds of them. It was fun.

As for WoW removing things for ages, I certainly noticed it and like I said the examples I gave were simply the last straw and final nail in the coffin. I absolutely hated their FOMO tactics to try and force players to stay subbed. It had the opposite effect and drove me away instead.
Events in FF14 irk me because not all the rewards come back (and they should) but it's a minor thing compared to the nonsense Blizzard pulled.

I'm unsure how people say there's nothing to do when there's a lot. A LOT. I have subbed since wwr of ARR. Even if I'm busy with life, I still find myself logging in to do things and catch up.

The thing is, WoW just does it better. There are far more mounts and minions, a proper mount/pet tab, the whole toybox, a glamour dresser that holds every glamour, a miles better achievement system, lots of interesting achievements, ridiculous amounts of old content that can be soloed, pet battles and so on.

Not saying "WoW good, ff14 bad", it has plenty of faults, but in terms of fluff content filler WoW is (or was) more fun. Not to mention ff14 has developed a mindset where showing off accomplishments is considered evil and everything is either 10 minutes and done or 500 hours that no one cares about and will look down on you for if you're proud to earn it, so what's the point? There's zero prestige in earning most things in ff14, it's just not worth countless hours.

I disagree. WoW has toys and battle pets you can collect; FFXIV has collectable hair styles, emotes, music, Tripple Triad (TT is more fun than pet battles) in addition to Verminion, fashion accessories (some WoW toys were similar in that they only gave a temporary cosmetic effect) and bardings for your customizable companion. The account wide tabs are nice, but I only play one character in FFXIV so there is no difference. WoW transmogs are mostly ugly af and can't be dyed so getting to collect them all doesn't feel rewarding. I had fewer transmogs in WoW than I have glamours in FFXIV despite the account wide permanent transmog collection.

You can solo old content in FFXIV as well or you can do them with a group. Some content stays relevant forever. There are plenty of mounts that take between 10 minutes and 500 hours to get, such as extreme mounts, tank mounts, pvp mounts and savage mounts. Same for minions. Not to mention crafting and housing/apartments which you can sink hundreds of hours into and be very proud of what you've achieved. FFXIV is clearly the king of fluff content.

Whenever I've tried out other MMOs, I really can't help but feel almost spoiled by XIV's "everything on one character" way of doing things. Fortunately the possibility of making alts is still there, if you want to go that route. Personally, I have a sizable backlog of games I'd like to play through (most of em RPGs, I believe), so I'd rather go through that before I start replaying games.

I have a backlog of games I've never really touched too, my problem is I can't really get into a game unless I am in the mood to play it. So having a backlog never really works out for me. Always just end up replaying the same things over and over.
