I gotta say the irony is quite something to proclaim that anyone with a differing opinion is not allowed to speak. That's rather hypocritical. This has nothing to do with being in any kind of minority or whatever. You're posting on a public forum you don't own. You don't get to dictate who responds and how they respond!

Do you really know how much work it would be? It's not a simple matter of adding a third option for the script to read off the corresponding gender. There are other terms peppered throughout the whole script. I recall at least a few instances where WOL is called a bastard or a bitch. What exactly is the third option here?

For all that to happen in the first place, there needs to be an actual third gender option. That's a whole can of worms they are not going to go near. It's taken them enough time just to get Male Viera in.

This kind of project would take up a lot of time and you're asking to get it for free

We have tons of I dont know... developers? that also happen to be XIV gamers, that seem to know everything about the game. So dont be surprised. If they say its easy, it must be easy to do. Not to agree means you disrespect them. I mean whats so hard in changing texts? third party addons can do it (to a very minor degree) that means the official binary client game + the server must be able to do it easily and on a better, bigger scale. I mean we pay our subs right?

Very funny indeed. Anyone whos been in a software project knows. Users request features that they think theyre easy to do but most of the time theyre not. Not to mention they have to keep new patches rolling. The game is not perfect but people need to stop like theyre experts at it. But then again there could be some crazy genius programmers here that can somehow find a solution to this 10 years old and growing codebase, both on client and server side in 3 hours to add the feature officially in the game.

But why they would fo that. So far game gives you to choose one of two genders! You got Male and Female - very foundation on this game. Who cares that you want yo add some pronouns . Its gonna make you feel better that again you gonna be a special snowflake , a different than everyone? Maybe they should give you also option that your character identity itself in cutscens as Vegan Warrior of Light with gluten allergy.
Go play The Sims - they giving you there plenty of tools to feel very special... away from everyone else.

Edit: Also ironically apparently the localization team is fixing a few minor bugs involving women being referred to as his in a quest, as well as for a few emotes who will make you referred to as a man. I think really they should have kept it the way it was. No one cares about these things.

Women being mispronounsed and dehumanized ( Body Type B, Birthing Person ) = GOOD

Snowflake that cannot even decide what they are not being referred to as an it or a they or dog = BAD

Yeah, switching a flag is the same as adding entirely new pronouns, that need to change grammar structure.

It's not the same. You certainly can't call these people developers. The cosmetic fix they put over the text isn't the same as actually going in and modifying it for the whole game.

Please don't try and preach about disrespect when the opening post so blatantly tries to force a certain view and steer this conversation the way it did. There are better ways to ask for things to get changed. There was no need to shame anyone for a difference of opinion. None of that was necessary. It could've been a simple, polite request, but no... it has to get all political and make all these assumptions about people.

Because if they go down that route, then players will then expect all other players to call them by their pronouns, then the ToS would have to be updated, and a new report war begins by the overly sensitive players. Just no, I hate pronoun politics no one wants it in the game, no one wants all the BS that will come with it. Stop we play video games to get away from real world BS.

All in all, it'd be cool, but I wouldn't be fussed if they don't ever add it either. There's already some hints of it here and there anyway, such as *87 MSQ spoilers*
