I mean there's an addon that fixes this problem so you all saying it'd take a lot of work are just being corporate simps lol. IMO I don't think its a necessity but its not a really hard to do implementation... I just think a japanese corporation wouldn't care enough.

Also, this could lead to a legal can of worms. I'm not sure all of the countries this game is available in, but several countries have laws against trans, non-binary, etc., so it's not as simple as you seem to think this is.

so it's been a hot minute since the last time i saw an active request for pronoun choices in game, either just differing from the sex of the character model, or entirely new pronouns that aren't currently included in the game. So this is my request for SqEnix to look at the option of adding pronoun choices in the game.

Now, before people go off about how much work this would be, and how unreasonable, and how little it's needed, I *know* that it is a lot of work, 10+ years of dialogue, and that the people who need this are a minority, but I still think it would be worth it.

So if you say all of that and Acknowledge the workload of you're request...why ask for it?
Knowing that its a request that might also take away from other things the game needs that would satisfy a much greater Audience? Getting headgear working on the Viera and Hrothgar for instance, Game Engine Upgrades, and job Balance, just to name a few.

This request for Pronouns would take away from the actual game improvements, in place of satisfying personal wants over improving the the game itself.

The dialog is already in the game in both male and female versions, the only change that would be needed to at least give something, is to change what triggers your dialog option from your characters gender to an independent value.

We dont hate Minorities. We just want dev time to go to things that improve the game.
Not things that...hey, might be nice in the future, but shouldn't be a focus when there are other things, sometimes even more important things that need to be done.

Also you can’t judge anyone right away if they display a certain disagreement with it which otherwise you or others may interpret as anti oppressive

No game should further cater for one community over the other, just leave it as it is & accept that certain things cannot be altered but just go by your own personal joy & business

If there's an addon, well...it's not as if anyone else *will* ever see your preferred pronouns utilised by NPCs, so the problem is pretty much addressed in a manner of speaking already. For RP, the profile message/carrd link can bring PCs up to speed.
