Yeah honestly it's just funny that he was lauded when the meltdown was directed towards WoW. But now he's the villain because it's against this game. Yes, he was a bit too unhinged. But the double standards are astounding.Fun fact.
This thread breaks the Witch hunting and harassment rules.
Pyromancer didn't help himself, he did behave like a bit of a spoiled manbaby, but honestly, the fact this thread straight out breaks name and shame policy and is people dog piling a single person in the hopes of getting that person banned?
Applause
Well done community, you've fallen so very far, very fast.
Best community? You're well on your way to Lost Ark tier at this rate.
Mortal Fist
They need to realize, SE does make mistakes, the dev team does make mistakes. They are indeed human and sometimes, they have to be called out with valid criticism
Acting like they've never ever done anything wrong ever and the world is perfect is absolutely crazy talk.
And the worst part? The people dogpiling him don't even realize....
While he may have committed one strike (Third Party Mods)
They have committed Three in trying to drag him.
Harassment, Witch Hunting, using Third Party (Twitch is a third party as is 4 and 5chan)
If he got done, he'd get 10 days, they're looking at straight permaban for breaking three sections of the EULA.

Yeah but it's not all the same groups of people. Some people were there that don't care about what game he likes, simply because they just like his stream in general, or his meltdowns. It's not like the whole FFXIV community knows who he is.
Then again the meltdown was different circumstances as well since a lot of the reason he was tilted during his WoW meltdown was the culture of sexual harassment. So if SE did something as big as Blizzard's culture of dehumanizing people like that - yeah different result...
I think it's a bit of a bad take to be honest.
Others view FFXIV's drama to be really mild or others have put it - actually lame. The company doesn't promote a culture of harassment (or at least it didn't blow up/kept under wraps) unlike Blizzard. SE actually updated their policies about stalking and such because they at least make some kind of effort. They decided to break from workaholic culture and actually lengthen time between patch cycles so their workers have better balance. While there were small outbreaks like the harassment surrounding a fanzine, and other community troubles...
Our drama is - Bunny men/buff cat girls, locked hairstyles - gear/ housing and mods.
There's of course cheating and botting - but that's the same with many games

It's not really about the game you know... It's about he treats his viewers and other players. I don't care if he has a pro-mod stance, many streamers have that but everyone agrees it's just ToS so there is nothing you can do. And we all know this game is far from perfect. What I do care about is that he belittles and insults people for little to no reason. Other streamers used add-ons and mods too, they don't get a backlash because they don't behave like a manchild.
Edit: Just to clarify; I don't support reporting people and I'm not one of the people who do.

I'd honestly argue it's both. His personality makes him an easier target since it not only makes people know they're going after a tantrum thrower but also one that could make them feel validated for doing so. That said, given how taboo and sacred the story is for many players, he was a pretty prime person for many to get attached to. Not surprising a lot of this same crowd might have it out for him when he belittles them lol. It's not really about the game you know... It's about he treats his viewers and other players. Who cares if he is a jerk to its viewers if people don't like that they are free to leave the stream just like Pyro or any streamer have the absolute right to ban whoever they want whenever they want for any reason they want, the viewers can stop watching whenever they want. It's not really about the game you know... Remember Scottzone I sure remember how he was doxxed and got death threat for stating an opinion about the game. The community is absolutly terrible and I don't want to hear from people trying to justify witch hunting about their moral high ground.
It's not even that it were few. The culprit that crossed the line was actually a single person. I've been there and watched scrott myself he was a very wholesome dude and it's a shame that he stopped.
What really happened is that a person has sent him a death threat via mail including scotts private adress to prove his point. Scrott then revealed the informations of the sender in his stream which got him banned from twitch for 30 days.
Not saying FFXIV does not have its fair share of black sheep but this is the internet for you. Toxicity is all over the place, aslong as people stay anonymous they feel empowered.
Every community has idiots especially a big community like FFXIV but stuff like this get's too real and I can understand why he stopped streaming after such an experience.
I couldn't give a shit about the opinion of someone who watched out of context clip made by hater on reddit who only show someone getting mad without showing the lead up and now are so opinionated about a subject they know shit about.Given what I watched were some clips of his on compilations and that might always be his worst moments. But these gave up a negative impression and I can see why people target him and not others like Zepla who does not behave in such a way. I just don't think you should treat your audience like this, even tho he might as well has good and nice streams but I don't think that would excuse his abusive moments.

except.... this is not the first time Pyro has lost his shit, scrubbed his twitch of the video, then release an "apology" video, blaming everyone else "look what they made me do." (this is a massive red flag regarding abusive behavior), promises to be better, then we wait until his next nuclear meltdown where he repeats these same steps.
He really isn't a good person and im honestly surprised Twitch hasn't axed his channel already because he has a penchant for flying off the handle in pure rage and start swinging the banhammer on anyone who dares to disagree with him
