The system is fine as it is now. As others have stated, Jobs and Classes both have their place in game, and they serve them just fine.

I personally think that in time the usefullness of classes will fade away when Jobs become further specialized and have skills only available to the jobs.
As it stands there are not alot of "Job skills" that people couldn't live without. Nerfing the freedom of sentinel and Stoneskin would do the same. It's just a matter of time for me, people will be stuck with wanting to keep the freedom of classes for a while still but I think they will come around eventually.
I never liked the "Everyone can do anything" homoginization the class system has.
like upon a level cap raise.
Because maybe in the future there will be more than one job that splits from classes?
I hope they leave it as is, I think SE has done a great job in this addition to the existing armory system. Options are good ^^ don't knock options. For example... if you play Bard, you will be expected to focus on singing and playing a support role... but if you play Archer, then you are expected to concentrate on shooting little arrows at things and dealing damage. And... and... all without having to have that conversation as to what "playstyle" or "role" you believe you should take on in the group. It will be more obvious by your selection.
Yes, they can do similar things, but they aren't the same thing. I actually love that you have the flexibility to do either... I have a few jobs and there are still situations where I'd still rather use a class than a job, so I don't think they are that redundant. As with most things, its the nuances and details that make things fun.

I'm still puzzled how the community whined about Classes not being Final Fantasy enough, yet still wants them around when they have their precious jobs.
I think the Job system will eventually lead to the class system becoming obsolete. I don't want to see the devs trying to balance the game between solo and party play. I think that will only cause more problems in the long run. I'd rather they focus on what everyone is here for. FF style story + cooperative gameplay. I can't imagine there are many people here interested in "solo" play which is what the classes are supposed to be about. Once you hit end game it's all about group content and that's where Jobs are supposed to come in. Focus on the jobs please and let the class system fade into the darkness where it belongs.
no, i like it as it is, if u only want jobs then use only jobs is ur choice, i use for soloing war over mrd because its far better in other cases the class is a bit better than the job for solo stuff
Thats because they didn't. You can't logically assume that 20-40 posters tops, complaining about something, represent the cummunity as a whole.Classes not being Final Fantasy enough
