Would you want account progression?

Unlock those real money purchases for all other characters. They might have to be picked up in the mail like the old vet awards are but I'll take it. (I would prefer they all just get added to the mount tab).

For mounts on future characters lock using them behind the chocobo quest, just like with veteran award mounts. Also chocobos shouldn't be account wide. Each character should have their own that they can customize as they want.

Consider though that people have bought mounts and cosmetics multiple times for multiple characters. Is the money they spent just.. gone? Same for people who bothered to unlock titles/achievements/progression on alts. Are all the hours they spent just "oh .. we changed that , sorry you wasted your time?"

I've done both and I'd honestly be fine with that. I got my money's worth already for purchased items and I don't regret time I spent for things on my alts. If they suddenly said I only have to get mounts for instance once and they'd be available when I swap characters, I'd be very happy to access any that I haven't already re-acquired and won't feel bad about any I did.

Same here, but considering what I know about game fanbases and their "investments" I'm reasonably sure there'd be a sizeable pushback against just "oh well it's gone" sort of solution.

Almost certainly. The benefits far outweigh those complaints, though.

That would probably work well to at least stem complaints about money spent, and one COULD say that time spent playing the game is supposed to be enjoyed, not "invested".... I would still expect to see complaints though as well.

Would you, personally be OK with all mounts then being the price for "account wide" as well?

I also remember the devs mentioning account wide grants had a limit as far as capacity.. so that could be another reason they don't just swap to everything being account wide.


All in all, like I said I'd love it since my alts are mostly bare of all the long investments my main has... I just think it's probably got a lot of inherent problems preventing it.

Ultimately, people decided at the time they bought the thing that they were willing to pay X (money, time, whatever) for the thing.

Expecting compensation would be like expecting every single shop you ever bought something from to give you a refund if they reduce the price of the product later.
