The fact that JP has a Savage clear rate of 40%+ means that actually, a majority of players are going to stick with it (it's going to be 50%+ for those who bother to do Extreme and above type of content).

On both JP and NA players have complained repeatedly about job homogenization and JP is often even more vocal about it.

The matter of fact is that increasing the skill ceiling does not hurt casual players in any way, because they wouldn't ever need to reach that skill ceiling to comfortably clear content in FF14. But decreasing the skill ceiling hurts skilled players.

That 40% is full tier completion rate, before the tier has been cycled out of current content, and based only on mount ownership iirc. Savage participation rate in jp will be higher, almost certainly reaching over 50%.
