I'm by no means a fan of the direction WoW has since gone in, though it didn't always lean heavily on busywork and it has at least consistently kept an open world intact in order to encourage exploration.
Which is only one facet of the updates this game gets over the course of each patch. WoW literally only gives you that one patch of content and does nothing for 12 months.
