How is anyone fine with the 4-month patch delivery schedule?

It may seem unlikely due to me posting on the forums, but I actually have a life outside of FF14, and I have plenty of other things I can do in that time.

Can we remove silly weekly/daily lockouts and silly FOMO incentives from this game then please? I'd like to do the content at my own pace and then get on with my life until the next patch .


There is a difference between allowing a break and forcing one. If Yoshi-P wants me to take a break so bad if I finish the content, then why won't he let me finish the content and move on? If he wants us to take a break, then why is PVP FOMO incentivized to force you to play during that series to get those rewards? Unreals are seasonal patch content. Your favorite trial but at 90?? Make sure you play during this patch which funny enough...is also a weekly lockout XD. Hell even the ultimate when it releases is a weekly totem lockout for some reason. Don't forget about limit housing with demolition D:. Alliance raid, tome caps, etc. If the motto of XIV is to play the game how you like and then take a break until the next patch, then why are these systems in the game?

Yes, I am totally choosing to not receive another coin during my second Euphrosyne run of the week. That is definitely not the game forcing it. All those extra savage runs i did? Yeah i didnt want anything from them anyway!... /s

Canceling the subscription is an option, if the game is no longer fun. The only people "forced" into paying are house owners during times with auto-demolition timers currently active.

10 year ago me would be impressed by a 4 month patch cycle. Back then games that updated with any regularity were rare and you never knew when the next patch was coming.

I love them because I know what I'm getting into. I love them because they allow me to not obsess and live on just this game. I love them because they let me play other games while not feeling like I'm missing out by not playing 14.
