MAGIC MUSHY ROOMS
every mmo, even the lolf2p has local servers... why can't we have them too? it's too hard for SE to manage them?
To me it had more things to do with chars being displayed than server lag or w/e i could never claim an HNM on ps2, could not load up enough models, but on pc i could claim plenty of times. This was before they added the 3 second spawn rule.Well they did in the early days until SE fixed it, FFXIV already has this in place.
That being said open world NM's spawn within 5 mins in this game so its no big deal anyways.
Higher NM's have different conditions but they spawn ever 8 in game hours from what I remember.
Us players like to downplay the issues us EU players have, go look at the Coincounter thread for example, but the fact is that we do have an unfair advantage.
Like I've said before I know someone who works from Japan on occasion and he said the difference fighting Ifrit in EU and JP is like night and day.
"Zero delay" means my gameplay doesn't suffer like it does with FFXIV (eruption as a popular example), so again it's not the server location.
So if the server location is the problem, why is it that when I trio-box 3 characters and I say make a WHM character cast Cure VI it pops up at the same time on all screens? When a monster readies an attack move it's displayed instantaneously on all screens? Comparing FFXI to FFXIV you would certainly say it's a problem with FFXIV's architecture, a problem Square themselves stated is the cause.
Regional servers will not fix anything, even playing Rift I've had more lag with that game than I did with any Korean/Chinese/Japanese based MMO that allowed US connections.

Of course you have Elexia you are always the exception to the rule.
Why are there videos out there showing when people dualbox and one character runs in a circle with the other on follow the character on follow is running in a stuttered triangle shape.

Coz all your 3 screens are on the same region and u have the same lag in all them?So if the server location is the problem, why is it that when I trio-box 3 characters and I say make a WHM character cast Cure VI it pops up at the same time on all screens? When a monster readies an attack move it's displayed instantaneously on all screens?
guy, if u really dont understand how something work, dont talk about it...
I love how with some things a person can mention "We can just have the option to either use or not use X" but then you go to another thread and those same community members will gang bang another community member with "NO YOU CAN NOT HAZ THAT'S JUST STUPID AND YOU'RE STUPID!"
LOLOLOL
While its true most people tend to stick to people of their own language, I speak multiple languages, being American, most of my friends list is American, speaking english I play with a lot of English, Australian, and Irish/Scottish players, but there are also a lot of French and French Canadians on during the times I play, they do typically do runs and such with us, and I usually act as translator being the only person who speaks french. If I'm on late, I'll group up with jps, auto translate is lacking but still works and they've never been mean, always been respectful. I would hate an NA server to take away my NA pop, and doubtful a EU server will grab my EUs but I wouldn't want it, and definitely no JP server, I'd lose everyone who buys my goods at night ; ;. I love my server dynamic, I wouldn't leave, but others might, and I'd hate to lose them.
Because the servers only report character position every so often. This is due to server infrastructure. It has nothing to do with the location of the servers.
