When I tank, it doesn't bother me. I usually try to wait for the tank to pull first especially if they're new or undergeared.
If they're my friends, I trust them.
But it's really not that big of a deal tbh. Aggro is easy to control now.

Both of those are obviously wrong, they trust you to do your job and continue to do so. That means continuing to use mitigation and your aoe attacks and not drop stance.I have a lot to learn as a tank so if you pull I will assume
a) Its a more efficient way to deal with the dungeon for you to tank I'm yet aware of.
b) You want to tank.
If you pull for me because you trust me capable of handle your mess then I'll repay you by trusting you are able to deal with it.
If you ask me to pull more I'll do it. But if you don't state your intentions I can only make assumptions.
what if they pull and bring it to you and stack it with your pack?I have a lot to learn as a tank so if you pull I will assume

The only assumption you should make in that situation is "I guess I can try wall to wall." Any other assumption you make is a stupid excuse to grief, especially if they bring the mobs back to you.I have a lot to learn as a tank so if you pull I will assume

Tanking isn't hard to figure out. You just use your AoE combo to hold hate, cycle through your mitigations (bosses don't really need you to use Rampart and {2-minute CD}, so you can save those for the trash) and you're golden.
There is a simple solution to this which actually makes you a better player. As someone who likes tanking dungeons I've noticed a trend, at least on Materia, of DPS and Healers deciding to pull.
This can be in the form of using a ranged attack on an enemy I haven't reached yet (waiting to get into melee range for an AoE). Or if I pause for 3 seconds after a boss to take a drink of water, by the time I put the bottle back down the DPS has run off
I am not talking about the case where the tank only pulls one or two packs and the healer is encouraging to pull more by bringing a few friends. This isn't a small packs vs wall to wall issue.
I don't remember really ever seeing this on NA/JP DCs but maybe that's changed too?
Is this something players on other DCs are seeing?
PULL
IT
ALL
Nothing more infuriating than a tank that pulls 1 group at a time, grab it all, AOE it down. Damage at this point in the game is a joke.
As a dps i pull when the tank is severly underpulling, and by that i mean taking 3 mobs and barely lose any hp. Nobody wants to waste time in dungeons.
How much time is more needed when doing single pulls in a dungeon? 2 minutes maybe? Would it not be better to have this few minutes in a dungeon and therefor have a tank more who runs dungeons?
This is true! Especially considering the amount of self heal basically all the DPS have access to, maybe tanks aren't as important to the parties success as they seem to think they are in this thread.
Good riddance to any tank who stops tanking over this. The game is a better place without them.
