Uhh last I checked tanks are called tanks because they tank the enemy and not because they pull the enemy. Why don't you go play a pull instead?
D'aw. I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who likes the original a lot more than the Disturbed version. They're different in feel and the original feels a bit chilling to me.I will always love that song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Dg-g7t2l4
Mortal Fist
and dps called so as he D P S or healer as he H E A L S so what your point here. maybe uf yoiu want to be the "leader" of the party then play as the tank.
Nah, that happens on NA all the time. If you need a drink, get your drink. If they run off then you can catch up if you can and if they die before you get there, then that's on them for not maintaining situational awareness about the rest of their party.
I'm not a griefer so I just pull faster than any DPS or healer could.
You're not 100% alone; my aunt shares that opinion. (I like both versions, but I admit to a slight preference for the Disturbed one.)
Aaaanyway, back on topic.
I will often rip aggro off of tanks unintentionally as a healer, especially if they're in lower-ilevel gear than me. We're running along, they pull, I DoT everything they've pulled, I discover they only AoE'd a given mob once and as we run through a second pack and that DoT keeps ticking, eventually my DoT makes the mob decide I'm their new friend.
This is not really a problem, because as the pull ends, I will come sit on top of the tank (because I'm also gonna AoE that pack, and most healer AoE damage attacks are centered on the healer). If the tank is AoE'ing, within 1 or 2 AoEs, my new friend will decide the tank is a much more interesting chew toy than me.
I tend to think DPS (or healers) pulling early falls in that category; half the time it's a mistake or they thought I was moving faster than I was, and generally it won't matter because my AoE's gonna grab the mob off them anyway... assuming they'll bring their friend to me as the tank, anyway.
(If they do not bring their new friend to the tank -- or at the very least within Provoke or ranged attack distance -- then I grant there is a certain point where if you take a mob off to Narnia while I'm tanking, I'm going to assume you probably want to have a private magical adventure of your own with it, with fauns and Turkish delight. I don't believe in "you pull it, you tank it", but if you pull it to Siberia, there's only so far I'm willing to commute to get the aggro back; the Scions don't let me expense the travel costs.)
The only time I think it becomes a problem is if the tank expressly is not comfortable with big pulls, and people are still pulling the mobs to force them out of their comfort zone. Tanxiety is a thing, and my goal as a player is not to make someone else's life miserable.
I will absolutely encourage an uncertain tank to try big pulls even if they don't think they can -- especially if I'm the healer, where I'll be like, "If you get vaporized, at least you tried, and it'll be partly my fault if I let you hit the floor. No one's going to be mad, and you might find you can handle more than you expect and have fun with it." And more often than not, in my experience, people who are single-pulling because they're feeling nervous are willing to give big pulls a shot once they know folks aren't going to be upset at them if the pull goes sideways.
But if they aren't comfortable with it, then yeah, an impatient DPS or healer running ahead to grab mobs without actually saying anything isn't going to encourage most anxious tanks to do big pulls. It's just going to make them resentful.
But in any other scenario...? I mean, if I'm tanking and someone grabs a mob before I'm there, I'm gonna just shrug and AoE it off them, because I was probably about to go grab it anyway; at that point, all the other player did was go fetch trash mob take-out and bring it back to me. Cheers
I only pull if the Tank decides to pull small in expert dungeons, nobody has time for that, at that point in the game you should have learned how to pull better..
I do see some healers rescue Tanks though while they are pulling big, but you know have to do an aoe to grab hate.
That behaviour to me is very annoying.
Tank is probably going slow or it was accidentally pulled. Or healers + dps are bored and want more.
Most runs i've been in, the tank just goes full blown speedrun and pulls everything regardless.
Never really understood the speedrun mentality, but as a main heal with zero ambition to pull on my own (on purpose, yeah it happend a few times with accidental pulls), i just accepted it and went on.
I am 100% certain, if there are no walls, tanks would pull the entire dungeon + bosses.
