DPS/Healers pulling in dungeons

I just let the clown keep the ad he/she pulls. If you really want to be a pseudo tank, be my guest and if you want to tank a Boss as DPS or Healer, i totally dont mind dropping Tank Stance for this. At least it keeps things spiced up in the normally boring Dungeon Runs.

Far as I know, it's always been a thing.

I don't really mind, I'll try to pull the aggro off them, if they die before I manage to do it, oh well....

Bring them all to me and I will pull them off. Even better if the DPS uses their own Arms Length so I can save it for the next pack. No one dies before me.

As someone who likes tanking dungeons I've noticed a trend, at least on Materia, of DPS and Healers deciding to pull.

This can be in the form of using a ranged attack on an enemy I haven't reached yet (waiting to get into melee range for an AoE). Or if I pause for 3 seconds after a boss to take a drink of water, by the time I put the bottle back down the DPS has run off

I am not talking about the case where the tank only pulls one or two packs and the healer is encouraging to pull more by bringing a few friends. This isn't a small packs vs wall to wall issue.

I don't remember really ever seeing this on NA/JP DCs but maybe that's changed too?
Is this something players on other DCs are seeing?

well you ask this peopel to stop doing it. if they dont you lett them tank it and kick them out, easy. people are just rude like this in DF as they think you are just an npc, they don't see you as human.

I know doing something like turning off tank stance would be against ToS but I think it would be perfectly reasonable to expect the DPS to bring the mobs to you.
Drop em at my feet and Ill happily AoE with the rest.

Oh, the irony

But a DPS job is also to manage enmity which includes bringing mobs to the tank.
So it cant be against ToS for tank in this case, they arent refusing to do their job.

When I tank, I watch where everyone is. If everyone's working at breakneck speed, sure, I'll sprint, gap close, pick up everything anyone pulls. Go nuts.

However, if healer's running slow at the back or isn't keeping up. Or if you don't know the layout well enough and are just pulling unnecessary shit, or etc etc. I will let you die.

It quite simply boils down to "don't be a jackass" (tanks included) and work with the general pace of the group. Don't see how this is so contentious.

This is a small pp tank mindset no one needs lol. Don't let people die and just do your best. If you wipe you wipe. It's really not that hard
