Yes because the guy can't genuinely be a nice dude because he's "corporate". This is why you see so many worship the guy as on the extreme side we have logic like this.Of course yoshi is going to be polite because at the end of day he wants you to be still subscribe or making purchase in the cash shop at the end of the day he need to make sure that player keep their subscription active to show square that this game is still successful.
I for one think he has the best intentions but doesn't always succeed in execution
Everything that's happening to FFXIV is very reminiscent of what happened to wow. Wow started off as excellent but eventually stopped prioritizing entertainment for gamers and instead became a way to siphon as much cash from the customer as possible.Between the healer problems for 6 years being ignored, the recent Hrothgar problems where they waited patiently for 3 years and got literal shit, to the horrid job design in 6.1, the pretty controversial story of EW, to now the housing system just imploding on itself. Do the devs just not care anymore? The game is seeing it’s peak, the game is bringing in more money than ever, and yet we’re somehow getting more broken systems. I guess this is what happens when they let the popularity get to their head? They start thinking they can half ass everything and people will continue to stay and kiss up to them. Seeing this community’s history i don’t blame them for thinking that way but…my god. The game is taking such a downward spiral. At this point i’m expecting Ultimate to have some major errors and that would be the icing on the cake.
It's not the customer's job to tell them how to fix their issues. Why would it be our responsibility to tell their paid employees how to fix their own product? There have been suggestions, for instance on how to deal with healer issues, which they routinely ignore. They go and throw in job changes which suggest they're not actually listening to what they're being told.Yet I've seen maybe 4 folks here in the slew of comments say the game is fine. This thread has big wash of "look at xyz, xyz is bad", but nothing (or not much) on how to fix those. Not everyone here is complaining for change, I'll bet plenty are complaining for the sake of or just to be part of the group.
I'm not excusing anything but it does seem SE isn't allowed to make mistakes because they're a big company and "big Corpo = bad". Have they taken on a tall order and tried to appeal to to many folks? Sure, but I'm not gonna crap on them for it.
Also overflowing issues isn't always needed. How a class performs? No. Losing money due a bugged lottery, yes
There have been long, on-going threads of complaints over a variety of issues, and for many this is just compounding these issues, which other posters have articulated several times now.
If you don't like complaints threads, stick to the positive ones, but we're not retracting our comments or complaints because this thread doesn't meet some supposed requisite "positivity" quota.
Sadly, it's because the competition is over. FFXIV won over WoW and everyday it's becoming more similar to WoW.Between the healer problems for 6 years being ignored, the recent Hrothgar problems where they waited patiently for 3 years and got literal shit, to the horrid job design in 6.1, the pretty controversial story of EW, to now the housing system just imploding on itself. You can hope for improvements in other MMOs but not here. Not anymore.
There is also the hope that the new WoW expansion will revive the game, resurrecting FFXIV and WoW competition once more. I'm hoping for that even when I know its probably not going to happen but one can at least hope.

I mean there's Lost Ark??? I heard a lot of praise for it despite it being pay 2 win.Sadly, it's because the competition is over. FFXIV won over WoW and everyday it's becoming more similar to WoW.

As far as I'm concerned, Square is not allowed to mess up on making a working random number generator. I was taught how to make one during gcses in high school. A line has gotta be drawn somewhere and I am drawing it right here. People are free to disagree of course. But to the layman like me, this screams incompetence.Yet I've seen maybe 4 folks here in the slew of comments say the game is fine. I'm not sure why many people are saying we should try to offer solutions to be honest. We're random people on the Internet. If we could solve their issues for them they better give us a job offer.
Furthermore, the housing debacle can't be fixed. Rollback everything? People who win, despite there being a possible bias in the system, get fucked. Don't rollback? People who didn't win gets fucked. Do the lottery again? Everyone gets fucked. Yoshi-p isn't gonna be able to “please understand" out of this one. Housing was a shitshow in ffxiv since time immemorial, this change was supposed to show us the housing team aren't incompetent idiots. They failed kek
What is the team doing? I don't know, but definitely not housing improvements that's for sure
I did say the housing stuff isn't acceptable. But I don't think anyone here is saying to fix the game for them so not sure where that's coming from.As far as I'm concerned, Square is not allowed to mess up on making a working random number generator. But if all the being put forth are issues with no solutions (though ofc many have offered as such in other threads) then it's complaing for the sake of which gets nowhere.
No they can't, because then the people unhappy come into that thread and have the "How dare you say something positive" attitude or accuse them of ignoring or being blind to issues. Can we just agree that people are going to have differing opinions and we don't get to decide when those opinions get stated? Everyone should feel free to speak up on these forums, but I rarely see anything positive because the negative people jump down their throats when they do.Crap? Just because you don't like the words he uses or the tone of his reasoning doesn't mean he's crapping on them. If people want to praise Square, they can start their thread rather than coming into a complaint thread to subvert people trying to vent their concerns about the game, which is more malicious than someone being slightly blunt with them.
Alright, I'll give a solution then. Remove housing from the game and fire everyone involved in housing. They have shown time and time again they don't know what they're doing. Expecting people to stay up all night clicking on a sign? Simply absurd. If they can't do a feature right, then don't add it. Otherwise they are just giving us hope and letting us down over and over. Rework Island sanctuary into actual instanced housing, assuming the people in charge of that have an IQ above room temperature. Yoshi-p let 1.0 burn to remake it to be something good, it's time for the shitty housing team to go the same way.
