right doing a rotation is too hard for healers and healers still getting complained about doing their rotation even now even though its one button so i guess any dps button is too hard...I mean, yes, they are both the directors of their respective games and the difference is that WoW doesn't listen to its players and isn't in a good place. The other difference is that the director for WoW only ever was in charge while it got worse, whereas Yoshi-P has only seen the game grow.
The players are vast and want different things. The things they want differ regionally as well. There are savage and ultimate raiders, there are non-raiders, there are people that love eureka-style relic grinds and people who get very upset the moment they have to grind anything the way eureka made them do it. Using raid finder to pug happens in japan but not in north america. Yoshi-P has to look through all of these contradictions and find something that satisfies the majority of people. So what is out of touch to you might not be to someone else.
Sometimes what players say they want and how they react to it when it actually happens are very different as well. For example, they made the early alexander raids really hard and most people didn't do them or the statics had fights and parted ways. They made ARR dungeons hard and people couldn't clear them so they made them easier after that.
If healers had an engaging damage rotation they might feel too distracted with it to heal. Red mage could be a model to use for it, but sometimes you can be so caught up in your rotation that you don't notice that now is a good time to verraise or vercure. I've had to stop red mage's rotation entirely to heal and raise for a few minutes sometimes and it doesn't feel good to suspend a rotation for that long. The astrologian card system is fun, so maybe the other healers could have something unique inspired by it.
Dungeons being the same formula is fine because consistency is good, but we are getting Criterion dungeons and a new deep dungeon remember.
i mean its not like the healer is falling asleep cause he is pressing 1 button and not any of his many many healing copypasted buttons cause people avoid mechanics and if they do get hit by mechanics they have a pletora of heals to use then to wait for the healer to cast a healing spell which they pop in content that barely deal enough damage to actually use said buttons unless u decide to be a plant and stay in aoe and get hit.
WoW finally became old enough that good parts of the game were just accepted as good as left as that. All the attention turned to the things that weren't as good as they could've been and thus all heated discussion around the game was just "X is bad, please fix". FFXIV already has it's stuff that they do well and we just accept it for that and thus we all turn attentions to the things that are wrong... which is all any official game forum every really becomes anyway.Another sign is the reverse of that - where everyone is extremely negative about their own game. Look at WoW and how everyone is always so negative about it. It's important to praise the good parts of the game as well or it comes across like no matter what they do, there is a negative reaction.
square enix has $5.9 billion dollars, most that is undoubtedly being pulled in through ffxiv. stop endorsing bandaid fixes and accepting that money is being pumped into other projects rather than fixing patches upon patches of bugs.
I’m pretty sure half of CBU3 (the part of SE that makes FFXIV) is also making FF16. They’ve expanded it but is it by enough for both games to get the resource they truly deserve? Time will tell on both fronts.
Zenos has done more for you (the WoL) than a fair chunk of the Scions once he was introduced. Sure he may be a bit of a murder hobo at times but he treats us well.
...that being said, I see which option you did not pick...and that is ok.
I'm just a simple man. You do good, I say "good job." You do bad, I say "bad job". I don't have time to get into theatrics, unless I'm trying to make other people chuckle or laugh or trying to lighten up a heavy, moody situation. Right now, from where I stand, Yoshi and the dev team are not doing things well. It's just that simple. Very questionable decisions regarding combat gameplay, inability to interpret common requests made by the playerbase and just an apparent disconnect is not good look for them at all.
I do get wanting to have good intentions and good faith with your playerbase but unfortunately for YoshiP, actions speak louder than words. It's just one of those primordial truths of the world and right now, the actions he's taken with the game are just.not.good.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
