Broken Lottery, Please Rollback

From the Housing Lottery notes: "One winning entry will be randomly selected from the pool of applicants, and the player who submitted that entry will gain the ability to finalize their purchase of the plot."

That tells me that there will and should be a winner, not a possibility that no one would get it.

Yes, I know. And that ultimately depends on what their definition of “winning entry” is. If it is one made by an actual player, or the failsafe.

I have no faith in the development team when it comes to housing in this game. So this might just be my cynicism showing. Either way, this looks bad on them: either they launched this system with it bugged (because clearly they didn’t try to test their code), or they launched a system with a possibility that no one won.

I disagree. Why should you have your house rolled back and pray for RNG to bless you again when you have already won? It's 100 % understandable for houses that got absolutely no winners, that sucks a lot and I'm all for rolling back the lottery and re-drawing it ( without allowing new entries btw to not mess up original chances! ) But the houses that have been claimed should not be taken away from the winners again imo. That's just going to make people furious too.

Depends on the bug. If the bug is plot related, then only roll the one that has Zero as winner. But, If the bugs really because of the flaw in the RNG (thus affecting all the participants), then it would only fair to be rerolled for everyone. Otherwise that would be unfair for participants that didn't win because of the flawed code, and only fair to the dude that happens to win.

I wonder if the emergency maintenance from before messed with anyone who placed their bids early. Me and my FC co-leader placed ours two days ago and we got our large against 3 others who also placed theirs last minute. I see a lot of people getting their houses, but also a lot with 0 winning numbers.

I don't think a rollback is good in any case, a lot of people still won fairly. They should find a way to fairly reroll amongst the people who already bid on a plot that had a 0 win.

There's no way to prove this. For all I know somehow you did something I did not do which gave you an advantage. For all I know the underlying code explicitly prevented me from winning and gave the win to you.

Yup, N°0 was kind of frustrating when a friend of mine won the same house from another server.

There’s no way for you to prove that people did something that you didn’t do that gave them an advantage, though. This argument goes both ways.

If precedent means anything, they aren’t going to do rollbacks. When Shirogane launched in 4.1 and half of the people trying to get a house couldn’t get into the game because the launcher broke for them or the lobby server crashed, they didn’t rollback the wards to have empty plots again. They just added more wards in 4.2.

But for the winning/lucky number, it actually starts from 0.

So if you are the 10th player out of 10 lottery entries, you will never win because the number 10 does not exist.
The potential winners might be only from 0 to 9.

The weird issue is the moved houses and how easy it is for them to snap them back without doing wholesale server rollbacks, which im pretty sure is unprecedented in this. Especially considering its currently like 1am over there and they probably wont even realize this stuffs on fire for another 8 hours. At which point rollbacks risk Savage and EX clears and all manner of other things.

I’m very sorry for those who luckily won a house SOMEHOW but this Lottery was unfair to MANY of us!!! If they allow those winners to keep their houses under the new broken system, the next try will be even more tedious for us who got the bug with the “0 participants”!!! All those people who lost on those Lotteries will now participate on the few available and it will be less fair than it was meant to be!
I vouch for a Rollback! And get it fixed!!
